HoundsTown Farmingdale has been nothing short of amazing for our family. When we got our dog Tika in March 2019, we had terrible issues with separation anxiety (husky/shepherd mix). We tried trainers, and all of their tips and tricks. Nothing worked. We hired a dog walker to stop by during the day to help us get our dog’s energy out, but we couldn’t keep her in a cage all day (she would destroy our house if left to freely roam the house). We felt awful.
Then we found HoundsTown. This place is magical. Tika looks forward to going every time she hops in the car. She comes home completely happy and exhausted (that HoundsTown Hangover is real!). Our dog gets an exit bath each time she goes to HoundsTown, and she always comes home smelling good and looking clean. The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and you can just see how much they love dogs. It means a lot when the staff knows the owners and names of their respective dogs upon pick up and drop off. There is such a sense of community at this place.
We have also used their boarding service. We saw pictures of our pup throughout her stay, and we even called to check in on her. They were always informative and told us how she was doing. I was always weary about boarding services for my previous dogs, but HoundsTown changed my feeling about it. I would only trust them.
I highly recommend HoundsTown to anyone and everyone that needs a doggy day care or boarding service. Jen, Maria, and their staff are the best. We are...
Read moreI'm not sure what exactly goes on all day at Hounds Town, but whatever it is...it is incredible!! My 3 year old basset hound Merryweather has been going here a couple days a week for about 2 years. As soon as I am a couple of blocks away, she starts crying and barking in the back seat. She can't wait to get out of the car and run top-basset speed into the building!! Merry never even looks back at me for reassurance. She knows where her play group is, and she runs for them!
The staff are polite, thorough and thoughtful. I know I can trust them 100% with my girl and they will make decisions for her as if she were their own dog. These are the people who you want taking care of your dog, no questions asked. Merry always comes back exhausted and stinky, which for basset hounds means they had the best day ever!! Drool galore!
Merryweather was attacked by a large dog on one of our walks around Argyle Lake this summer and had some deep puncture wounds on her nose. A few days later there was a special delivery to my house - a Bark Box filled with fun and wonderful toys and treats for Merry! It was the most heartwarming gesture, and something that only family would think to do. I know that she is taken care of and loved there. The staff also makes a huge effort to update their clients with pictures on their interactive Facebook page each day. I could not think of a more perfect place for my dog to...
Read moreI adopted my dog a little over a year ago and it didn’t take more then a day to know she was a very social puppy. The thought of her being crated all alone while I was at work was horrible. A colleague told me about doggie daycare so I did some research and learned all about Houndstown. When I took Sally in for her first day she was confused and I was nervous and feeling guilty. The staff kept me informed of her progress throughout the day which set me at ease. When I went to get her a very happy puppy emerged. From that day on Sally knows when it’s her “play day”. As soon as we are in the area she starts getting excited and once I open the car door she practically pulls my arm from its socket as she rushes inside. At the hand off the only thing I see is her tail wagging with joy, she never looks back, she just wants to get to her friends. The staff treat her as if she were a member of their family and treat me with an understanding that I am entrusting them with a member of my family. They are the best and they have helped me give a deserving puppy the best life I can give her. Houndstown is such a great place for your dog to be social and taking a vacation is no longer a concern. Overnight boarding at Houndstown just extends their fun in a place they are already familiar and comfortable with. I’d die for my dog, she means that much to me, but I hand her to the staff at Houndstown with...
