We were a loyal client to this facility for years. We sent our friends and family there as well. As soon as our pup had a minor emergency and we needed there help they pretty much told us to screw off. Our dog had a cyst removed a little more then a week prior to his booking and a day before he was set to be dropped off at K9 a stitch popped. We called them and they said as long as we send an email claiming all responsibility and an email from the doctor saying heās good to board we were fine. We followed all requested which pushed back our vacation which is fine. My mother in law showed up to drop him off only to be sent away. Extremely unprofessional. They should have just told us from the beginning they werenāt comfortable instead of stringing us along for a week. Not to mention everytime we did board we made sure to tip all handlers $50 and brought pizza when picking him up. They should be ashamed of them selves!!!! We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt with all the warning signs, for example our dog coming home with a raging ear infectionā¦to the point where his head had a tilt, should have been easily picked up on. Iām so disgusted with them. Just giving you guys our experience, do what you will with it but thereās way better places out there!!!!!
Edit: (after owners response) First of all.. thank you for responding in such a way that proves my point of how unprofessional you guys have become.
Second of all, Youāre lying when you say we canceled because my wife has been in contact with Millie the whole weekend, stating .. āoh , no worries honey!ā My wife made sure that you guys were as comfortable as we were to drop Murphy off and you reassured us. Everything was fine and you would work it out. It wasnāt until you found out his nine day stay turned into a five day stay.. it was a problem ! You started demanding all of the paperwork which again we had no problem and obliged. As you stated, our dog is not aggressive (my 30lb wheaten terrier whoās been there since 2 months old and is in all your pictures), isnāt aggressive lol But when you have your random workers approach the car & open the door (him having no clue who you are)he is going to lash out. I would think you guys being canine specialist, would realize that.
The fact that you said youāre not in it for the tips or Pizza⦠itās funny how gracious and willing you guys were to accept all of those gifts for five years. And my mother-in-law had no problem watching him all week. Thatās why we kept checking in with you guys to make sure you were comfortable, but since you guys kept saying you were, she had to go back home to work. In which it could have all been avoided.
Itās not practical for you? Thatās funny because Millie was the one that said that he could be separated and & can walk him with a slip leash around his chest.
I donāt know what you mean by filling in? Heās been booked the entire time and isnāt that your job is to fill-in for people who canāt watch their dogs for a period of time and now itās a problem?? Then get a different job!
Main problem here: You should have been upfront and honest from the beginning. It seems to me that the gist of your post is complaining that you would have to watch our dog even though thatās your JOB. Our VET cleared him and sent you the letter that you asked for. But you all of a sudden out of no where denied his stay at the very last second. We have all the texts and receipts!! So again SHAME ON YOU! Very sad , as Murphy has been with you since a baby. Every Christmas party, 30 day stays per year.. we considered...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe entire team at K9U are amazing. My boy goes to daycare every week. Itās such a good feeling knowing that I donāt have to worry when he is at K9U. I know that they all LOVE my boy and that he is in the best hands with them. He looks forward to seeing them every week. From the moment I call them, to the car ride there and getting out of the car, my boy is super excited and impatiently waiting for me to get him inside the building. He absolutely loves them. I love getting pics/videos of my boy having tons of fun. I even saw a video of one of the girls dancing with Storm - too cute. My boys a jumper and he loves standing, this was special - thank you for sharing this with me. Today, I received a call from Milly letting me know that Storm was on the list today to go to the park. It was the cutest thing ever. I knew my boy was going to love going on his adventure with them. They truly are amazing. They always go out of their way to make sure my boy has tons of fun. Every holiday my boy comes home with special cookies for the holiday. Even if Storms not there that particular day, Milly makes sure Storm doesnāt miss out and she gives me his cookies when heās there again. Storm also did training with Marlon. I canāt say enough good things about Marlon. Heās great at what he does and the love he has for all pups does not go unnoticed. He will train and love your baby like his own. Whatever it is you are looking for, Marlon will have the answers for you and he will succeed in training your pup to do what you would love them to do. Whats so nice is seeing the relationship that your pup has with him. They know who he is, itās Uncle Marlon - must be on your best behavior! š¤£. I canāt wait for the warmer weather so Storm can go have some fun in the pool with Marlon. Super excited to see if Storm loves the pool. I canāt thank you all enough. I really appreciate each and everyone of you - Marlon, Milly every last one of you who have come to greet Storm and myself at the door when we arrive and when I pick him up and everyone of you who look over him while he is there and for all of you that I donāt see, but I know how much he is loved by you; thank you, thank you,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere are not enough great things we could say about Marlon. We adopted our dog Blue when he was about 2 years old and he was rescued from the Chinese meat trade. Naturally, he came with some trauma that includes equal parts both anxiety and reactivity. Finding a trainer who could help us understand Blue, versus just discipline him was challenging, until we found Marlon. Marlon was the perfect balance of discipline he needed for his reactivity but wasn't strictly business like some of the other trainers we met. He loved Blue and was patient and gentle with him.
Before we met, taking Blue for a walk around our neighborhood was incredibly stressful. Even the sight of another dog across the street resulted in Blue lunging, barking, growling and being completely unmanageable. At 110 pounds it became very scary. After only 6 sessions with Marlon, Blue is an entirely different dog. Walks are incredibly enjoyable and we walk past dogs with ease and no reaction. Most of all, Marlon was incredible with us humans and taught us how to handle Blue in a way that would make both us and him feel secure. He was very patient with us and never pushed us to do anything we weren't comfortable with and fully respectful that this is our dog and our baby (another thing I did not find with other trainers who simply pushed methods I might be uncomfortable with in a condescending way with little to no explanation). The training methods Marlon uses are SIMPLE and easy for both humans and dogs to follow and understand.
Lastly, we referred Marlon to my brother and his puppy and he had just as much success as we did, so we know from experience that Marlon's training is not a one size fits all. We simply couldn't recommend him more and are so grateful for what he's given us all through his training. Photos attached are for size reference of Blue and a photo of our last session with Marlon where Blue is relaxed hanging with...
