Never donate here this place should be shut down!
I loaded up 10 bags in my car filled with excellent condition new/used toys to donate so children can have toys for Christmas. Since they aren’t brand new I couldnt give to toys for tots. I went inside and specifically said I don’t want to put them in the donation truck, I want them sold in the West Babylon Salvation Army store, and the lady told me to bring them to the red door to donate and explain my request they will give an estimate on everything’s value too. I didn’t get past bringing 3 bags when I come back to see the gentleman inside already told truck drivers to load my stuff inside the truck and literally toss the bags like trash and things opened up and spilled out. I could tell things got broken immediately and it was disgusting how they treat people’s donations. I got stern telling the man I just said not to do that, and he was like “oh unless they are glass they won’t break and we don’t put the items in store here”. I grabbed the rest of my bags and got the heck out of there. I donated items like transformers, train sets, kids statues, model car kits, all of these WILL break if you toss the bags. I cannot believe how low this place is, and nothing you donate actually goes to the location you donate too. Where the clothes and items come from is beyond me, or where the truck brings the items too because...
Read moreI went here to donate a mix of merchandise and some clothing as a my good deed to give back to those less fortunate. I was greeted outside by an older bald headed gentleman. He was questioning everything that i was donating as I was pulling out the bags from my truck . I had casually mentioned there was brand new roller blades that was never worn . His reply was those never sell and that i should take them back among questioning everything else . I was taken back by his attitude of my good intentions of helping the less fortunate. I packed all my bags back and nto my truck and dropped everything off at the donation bins in a supermarket parking lot . Donating is supposed to be a feel good experience for me and the gentleman quickly changed this into something negative. Going down i will think twice about donating to this...
Read moreNot a bad place but sometimes the selection is not all the good. But I get that. It goes buy what people have donated. I did find a neat place just to the right of this place called Rebecca's closet. It's behind the old World Gym. It's run by a wonderful church group. Their prices are amazing and all the money goes to a food pantry which is also located in the same building. I found out they also help many homeless and families in need during the covid-19 crisis that we all went through. They handed out free food, free clothing items and also offered to help the homeless with the shelter. I highly recommend anybody to check this place out. They are open Mondays and Tuesdays. Closed Wednesdays and Thursdays. Open Fridays and Saturdays, closed on Sunday. I believe their hours are 10:00 a.m....
