Waqas-the owner of the store is very unprofessional and disrespectful. I had came in one day because I seen the help wanted sign. I ended up working for a day but then came to collect my pay a couple days after because I decided I didn’t want to work in an environment where they only offered 12.75/13.75 & gave no breaks. I worked 6&a half hours and he tried to tell me I only worked 3-4 hours( why would you not have recorded down the correct time I worked) so I said pull the camera up and he didn’t want to. I worked from 2-8:30, then he started counting on his fingers. At first he gave me $54 for my 6 and a half hours worked. I had to come back in that place 3 times! Because every time i counted, I was given the wrong amount of payment. When I came back he said I made a mistake. How are you a boss giving out the wrong amount of money, cause that’s no way to run a business at all. How can customers even trust that you’d give them the right change if you can’t count $ or calculate. He paid me $35 short, until I said I’m not leaving without the money you had me work for. He tried to change his talk and said “I was gonna start you off at $11. ”I would never take a job that offered me $11 cause that’s nothing to survive off of. They don’t give any proper documentation stating pay, breaks or anything. He doesn’t give breaks but takes time to pray which is ridiculous to starve people working an almost 8 hour shift. He lied and told me they give all their employees breaks every shift when someone else told me they never get breaks except the chef. I’m like so why didn’t I get a break for working my 6 and a half hour shift. He didn’t answer. and one of the other crew members told me that they never get breaks They don’t clean their meat properly, or even wash the meat & he leaves all the fat on it still, takes 15 minutes to do 4 big bags but tells me I take 4 hours to do it. He kept raising his voice and demanding I get out, or told me to call the precinct, when I told him to do it he said no that’s your problem and said “I’m very good friends with them” like it’s supposed to be some kind of threat. He very insaultive. He claimed I fell asleep when I was working actively and moving fast which is how I managed to cut my finger, and I was also very wide awake. And I never got a second/chance to rest or sit. So he makes false accusations. Lastly he tried to take a dollar back and said that’s for the water you took… I never drank or ate anything that day from there, I didn’t buy anything and nor was I offered. So I’m not sure who’s dumb enough to steal something especially on the first day of working there. Tried to make me look like a thief which is very insultive especially coming from him when he tried to pay me $35 less which is a huge difference,if anybody is a thief, it’s him, for tryna withhold my full amount of money for the amount of time I worked . After a while of going back and forth with him, him refusing to pay me my full amount , and being very nasty and rude , tryna tell me I don’t make any sense and kept tryna force me to leave, I finally retrieved my $, which he shouldn’t make it seem like I gotta beg for something I clearly worked for. He was upset because he knew I caught on to him giving me the wrong amount instead of me accepting $54. They treat their workers like slaves or immigrant workers that don’t know their rights. The only thing I can say though is Noor (the young lady who works there) is very sweet...
Read moreHalal food is an development of Middle Eastern in America and is supposed to be scrumptious at any place that tries to mimic any type of this cuisine. However, Noor Halal Food is the epitome of the lowest rank of a specific cuisine. The absolute worst halal food in New York and I love halal food. Not having halal carts out here in Long Island makes us crave it more but Noor Halal Foods does nothing but dissatisfies me of that crave. Half the meat was overcooked while the other half was cooked to the point where it might as well have been left in the fridge. It was as if they used meats cooked at a different time. My wife and I, were disgusted at the dryness of the rice and how it did not even complement the meat. They purposely put little amounts of sauce so you'd have to pay for more, what a scam! And don't even get me started on customer service. While ordering, the little teenager taking my order was occupied with his phone, talking on it, and made me repeat my order like three times. And then while I was trying to finish my order, he ordered the other workers to make him fries or something, completely cutting me off. If I could give this negative stars I would. This was my worst experience at a restaurant and would definitely recommend this place to someone that would want to...
Read moreNoor Food benefits from being one of the only Halal restaurants in the Babylon area. In addition to the chicken and gyro staples, there's offerings in Desi cuisines such as Chapli Kababs, Lahori Chana, Samosa Chaat and more. Across the board, we felt the flavors were muted for our ordered items. The Chicken Tikka Masala is actually a mild tasting Butter Chicken, which we would highly recommend for a menu naming update as that's more recognizable and popular. The Chicken over Rice and Salad had less chicken than we were expecting, and still suffered from under-seasoning. The Tandoori Wings tasted fresh, had good char and were a nice change from the wings normally found in a chicken over rice restaurant. The standout item was the Samosa Chaat, which featured two fresh samosas with yogurt and spices. We really wished the Samosa Chaat had the classic tamarind chutney it's served with in most restaurants as that would've taken it from good to great. Despite our respect for the unique, inclusive menu and convenient location, no one from our party showed a willingness to order again in the near future. Hoping to see more of what Noor Food can do as one of the standout Halal options amongst the lackluster chains...
