As a Suffolk County resident, I truly enjoy walking around this pond—whether alone or with my dog. It's a peaceful and scenic spot that’s become a regular part of my routine.
However, I do have a major concern with the current condition of the walking path. The amount of goose and duck droppings has become overwhelming—at times it feels like you have to play hopscotch just to avoid stepping in it. It's not just unpleasant, it's a health and safety issue that really takes away from the experience.
I strongly believe the Parks Department should implement a scheduled cleaning—perhaps using high-pressure water—to regularly clear the pathways. Additionally, I encourage fellow residents to stop feeding the birds. While it may seem harmless or kind, it contributes to overpopulation and increased waste, which makes the problem worse for everyone.
With some regular maintenance and community cooperation, this beautiful area can be kept clean and...
Read moreBeautiful park, perfect for a nice picnic. I originally planned to have a picnic on the grass however I also packed chairs as a back up. To my surprise there was a mini picnic table available for use. This is the middle of the park directly located in front of the playground. I did pass the entrance as it’s a very small entrance and not a huge parking lot. There Is additional parking in the back of the park (near the train station). I decided to go around and enter through the main entrance. This park is Perfect for families, dates or even solo trips to read a book by the lake. Extremely peaceful. There is also a beautiful waterfall with benches to watch the view towards the front of the park. There are plenty of trees to sit under with a blanket to keep cool during your visit. This is a popular park for wedding photos, prom and other majors events so prepare to see a lot of photographers, brides and grooms! Overall lovely park & I will...
Read moreNice park. Went with a fair going on. But so much poor planning. They put vendors on a path backed with water making it very hard to wall. Vendors were spaced out so the main area had no paths. Walking with a stroller or wheelchair was near impossible. Mud holes in the low spots should of been filled before the fair. Last some guy in a t-shirt directing traffic with no training in front of the park just made traffic worse. He kept fighting the traffic light they could of had turned off and he would stop cars on a green but bc he had no flag, no bight colored vest no nothing, he would walk out in front of cars just waving his hands. I didn't even know he was part of the park until he sat in a parks car parked in the road to help male male...
