Long Island Actually Has a $26 Japanese Buffet—Who’s Going to Teach the Owner a Lesson?

Friendly and efficient staff, plus, food is fresh and delicious! This is one of our favorite spots on Long Island and have been going here for years! We usually do the all you can eat special, but recently we had a bit off of the main menu. They have Chinese, Japanese, and Thai...Make sure you come hungry, there is no wasting with the All you can eat special. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here! The sushi is elegant and made fresh by their Sushi Chefs, so much flavor and a large selection for all to enjoy. Everything is made fresh and to order. The DIM SUM is all steamed, the apps are all so flavorful and are just as beautiful in presentation. We were told the duck sauce was made in house as well! The pork buns and and soup Dumplings were our favorites. The firecracker shrimp, pineapple fried rice, general tso chicken are just a few excellent dishes we tried. We recommend ordering a few items off the menu, and sharing as a group and don't forget your hot sake! 😉 Speaking of sake, they have a brand new bar off to the right when you first walk in. I can't believe how big the bar was, there is so much room and they have a large selection from beer, sake, and liquors. We had the Mango Mojito (I'm not crazy about Mojitos, but I am HOOKED) and Mai Tai...both had flavor and a kick. The bartenders are super nice as well! By the way, there is tons of parking in a large lot.

HUGE size portions!!! The food was good and came out fast but we over ordered by mistake because the portions are huge unlike most ‘all you can eat’ sushi places I know of. *There is an additional charge for leftovers* I am all for it to avoid food waste but each roll was THICC! Maybe offer a half size roll?? Or explicitly describe the portion size of what I’m ordering in the tablet. For a second I thought my grandma was in the kitchen because my friend rice portion was HUGE. There was always a server staring at me to make sure I wouldn’t throw the food out. I would look at them and they would stare at me like I’m insulting them. Dude I didn’t want to order all of this. When the order was received for a table of 2 maybe someone could come by to double check that we meant to order all that?? I’m pretty sure I did mention that it was my first time there. I felt scammed. The end: I ate all 10 lbs of food because mama aint raise no b. So that was my first visit a few months ago, tonight was my second visit. I checked everywhere in the menu and tablet and nowhere is mentioned how huge the portions are. There are also no games in the tablet. I wont come back unless I’m in a party of at least 4 because the servings are too big for even 2 people to share and experience a few different rolls.

I don't even know where to start with this disaster. It's hard to believe this could actually happen in a restaurant. I have never gone to such lengths to post a negative review before but I felt it necessary so anyone else out there avoids the same embarrassment I faced tonight.

My group of 5 arrived at 7:00pm on a slow Wednesday night. It has been a few months since we were all abpe to get together. One person even traveled from North Carolina to meet up with us and go to this We were happy to see it was slow since we usually go on Saturday nights and it takes a little extra time for the food to come out. Well we were definitely wrong assuming food would come out quickly...or at all.

As the clock ticked past 8:30 we began to lose patience as our one friend who ordered all kitchen dishes like chicken with broccoli and lo mein received all of his food within moments of ordering. We all kept looking around waiting and watching other people come and go. We couldn't figure out what was going on and why none of the items the remaining 4 of ordered were coming out.

We continued to ask the waitress what was going on and she didn't know what to keep telling us. She looked nervous and scared. She tried to make excuses that we were a big party but it got to the point where we are waiting a hour and a half and the restaurant was clearing out of people so we were one of only two tables left.

Basically this is what we found out. Anyone who ordered kitchen food got it beause that was a different chef but all of the sushi orders never came out! We finally went up to the counter to ask what was going on and everyone there said they were at the mercy of the sushi chef and he will only make what he wants to make. It is an all you can eat place but according to the people at the register area you can only eat what the chef agrees to make!

How is that even possible? All of the waitresses and other staff were too afraid to tell the sushi chef to actually make the orders placed. They said it's too hard to find a sushi chef so their hands are tied. We asked for a manager but they said one was not available. When we asked who was in charge, they literally said no one is in charge. The waitress advised us to go elsewhere to eat because no one can talk to the chef. She recommended in the future to go to their Massapequa location because "there are no problems there." I guess that location has a chef who is willing to make food for their customers.

Here is the best part! At 9:00 we decided enough was enough and got up to leave. They still tried to make us all pay! Pay for what? We sat there waiting patiently for an hour and half for food. When we did not receive food we started asking and finally gave up at the 2 hour mark and went to leave. That's when they sent over a terrified little waitress to give us a check!

The whole time I was texting my wife what was going on because she couldn't come with us. My wife is 7 months pregnant and wasnt feeling up to leaving the house. She loves the pinapple vegetable fried rice so I promised to bring an order home for her. I wish there was a way to upload a screenshot of our conversation as proof this whole ordeal really happened and just how long we all sat there waiting.

So to recap, because I know this really sounds impossible but, we were told the chef there has all the power and determines who gets what food. The other employees even said that the chef is more important than the customers because if you get him mad he will quit and they are hard to find. In my opinion, at this rate they won't need this chef because they will close by not feeding their customers and still expecting...

the food is good, that is not the complaint. in fact it's the only thing keeping this review from being 1 star. the service is terrible. the wait staff does not do much to wait on you. Instead they rush you. i had the waitress come up to our table a few times, not to ask us how our food was, but to see if we were done. when they saw we still had food on our plate they'd turn away. I felt like my entire eating experience was being circled by vultures just waiting for us to be done. you do all the ordering on an iPad so the waitress just brings your drinks and rushes you eating your food. With that being said, and knowing they automatically include a 15% tip, we did not write our own tip. THEN the waitress runs after us as we're leaving to say that we didn't leave a tip. As we take the bill back she has the audacity to tell us "my manager says it has to be at least 15%." We wrote a number and left. Im sorry but to automatically include a tip into the bill is one thing but to chase me out for an additional tip is another. to make it worse they were essentially saying how much we should put as a tip. I understand people in the food service industry work hard, i've worked in food service myself. However, I would NEVER tell a customer how much they should put as a tip. ESPECIALLY after you automatically include a tip on the bill.

needless to say they ended up getting out of us two tips and...
