KAY Jewelers — Local services in Town of Brookhaven

This location has the poorest customer service. It's not the first time I encountered something of this nature. (Rocky Point is much better!) I called to inquire about one of their necklaces, which is over 2k. The sales associate would NOT tell me if they had this specific necklace in white, pink, or yellow gold, as her supervisor instructed her not to divulge that info. I was told that I had to come to the store to see what they had! REALLY?? What's the secret?? Then, Ashley, the supervisor, comes on the line and gives me the same line of bull. So, I said, "I just want to know if you have this necklace before I make the trip down to the store. Do you have it in rose gold, or white gold?" I asked as to why she instructed the salesperson not to tell me. She asked if I had any other questions and avoided answering my question. That irritated me further. It's terrible when someone in a supervisory position is less than accommodating to a customer. She was snotty and unfriendly, to say the least. That's one reason stores goes out of business, due to poor customer service. Ashley is definitely not an asset! Lastly, the quality of their diamonds is subpar, for the prices they charge. Best experience i’ve had with Kay Jewelers! (granted i haven’t had much) BUT i recieved a necklace for valentine’s day and the chain broke. i brought it back to the riverhead kay jewelers where it was purchased from, the man said it would be no problem to be fixed and took my info and said it will be back in a few weeks. when i went back to get it, it was fixed and everything seemed fine. i went to my car and put it on, the necklace was TWICE-TRIPLE the length!!! i went back inside and told the man at riverhead kay jewelers that it’s way longer is there anything he can do, he said “yea i don’t know what to tell you it looks the same here as it does in the photo we took before” and another woman suggested maybe i need to wear a different shirt. yeah, okay lady. anyway after being fed up with the riverhead kay jewelers i decided to give the shirley one a try in hopes that they would have a better response, they did ! i told this wonderful woman CJ what had happened and she took care of everything the way that the riverhead Kay Jewelers should have!...

Worse service ive ever received. I went in to return a ring i had purchase a few days prior. When i arrived i showed my NY STATE license because i had misplaced my receipt, they verified my address, date and time of purchase, things only a person that bought the ring would know but i guess that wasnt enough to complete my return because the sales associate and the manager in charge Ashley proceeded to have a full conversation about how “sketchy” I and the situation was. The ring purchase history matching my exact name and address on my ny state id was not enough?! Not only did i feel humiliated but i felt racially profiled and completely disgusted by their lack of professionalism!! The standards to work at this store must be very low and its truly a shame because kay jewelers is “prestigious” name. I could have gone to walmart paid a 3rd of the price and have received better service. Needles to say i will never go back to any kay jewelers...
