I generally have had good experiences at both locations that I have visited in Medford and Shirley. However, today that was not the case and for some reason I felt compelled to give her a review.
It’s not often that I give reviews, but I feel that if I’m going to spend my money at a local business, I have a right to expect good service, working equipment and kind and empathetic employees.
Today, I went to the stand up, only because there was no other beds available. It was very clear from the beginning that the standup was not anywhere close to the conditions of newer beds. After the session began, I put the fan on, however it would not go on. The session was only 9 minutes so I waited hoping it would kick on but it never did. Needless to say it was very uncomfortable in the bed without the fan.
When I was leaving I explained to the girl in the front the situation. She was extremely rude and dismissive and pretty much downright condescending. At first she said she would let the owner know but when I didn’t walk away, she finally asked me if I wanted her to call the owner and because of the principal, I said yes. She was downright rude and this was all going on in front of another customer.
While on the phone with the owner she went to the back as if to check the bed and came back up front and told me that the fan was working. The implication was that I was lying and that the owner was not going to do anything to rectify the situation. Again, this was happening in front of another customer. Let me make it clear that I have a lot better things to do with my time then to run around looking for free goods and services by lying. I just expect good business and I don’t feel that that was the case today. I feel that it was downright bad business. I may not be a regular customer but I do know people that are, lots of people just sayin.
I honestly feel that the reason that I was dismissed was because I am not a regular customer and don’t have a current package which is not an acceptable answer. I spend my money just like anybody else and the implication that I was lying was probably the most bothersome part of the entire situation.
My family owned a tanning salon over 25 years ago, way before Tanning was what it is today. I ran it for them and I will tell you that I would never have allowed my employees to handle the situation the way it was handled and any good business person would realize the right thing to do would be to offer another session free of charge. Believe me, I don’t need the $15 or whatever it was, it’s the principle, it’s bad business and it’s quite sad, to be honest with you.
What amazes me is when business owners don’t feel the need to have good customer service because there the only gig in town with no competition.
Fix your bed, train your employees and correct things if they need correcting. Basically treat all your customers...

I have been tanning since I was 13. No joke. So you can say I know a thing or two about tanning salons. Also my friends have owned them. I have to say that Pacific Tanning is right up there with the top salons I have used. Maybe the best!!! They always seam to get me in even if I’m driving there and I’m 10 minutes out lol. And the staff are always very very professional and keep the whole place clean. Not just the beds. There is nothing like going to a tanning room and see wads of hair and who knows what else?? So they keep the whole place clean!!! Big points for that!!! Ok I’m starting to write another book ( ADHD and OCD 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ I would definitely have no problem recommending Pacific Tanning to anyone and I always do. One last thing they definitely keep up with putting in new bulbs. Very important!!!!!! So go get TAN!!!!! No one wants to walk around all whit and clammy. Lmao. And not to mention Brad, the owner, super kind and friendly and also most accommodating- I had bought teeth whitening sessions from Groupon and ended up with date complications, but after emailing Brad- all was resolved and restored including my brilliantly white smile!
