Mastic Seafood — Local services in Town of Brookhaven

They are not making me a happy customer with live in season blue claws. I get them once or twice a week during the summer. Three times in a row I ask for a dozen and I get 12 with 2-3 dead by the time I get home. Then I see them dump a huge commercial size garbage can overflowing of dead crabs away. You're not supposed to cook dead crabs, that's why I'm buying them live. If they are wasting that many crabs anyway, they should give you 15 when you ask for a dozen. I see it matters which employee helps you, but manager please make this situation better. All those dead wasted crabs, then giving your customer no extras and dead... Poor things are dying. Give them away and let them get eaten.

Update: Raised prices in 2019, that's just greed. I would buy an extra two dozen if they were doing the right thing with customers. Now they lost me, and all of my friends and family as customers. This business isn't about the customer or selling quantity. They'd rather throw out wasted seafood than lower their prices and give you more. My masseur from South Hampton hospital recommended this shop. He is a native to this area and a serious fisherman. I learn a lot about local fish and shellfish from him. It was busy on Friday afternoon. 5 people were cleaning the fish on the back and 6 people were working behind the counter. They had good variety of fish and shellfish and looked fresh. Also the price was very reasonable and service was fast. The local fluke I got was really fresh. I could make sashimi or ceviche. The Calamari was also fresh. I also got flounder fish roe with I haven’t seen it any other fish store in East end. I cannot wait to try some new recipe with it.
