DISCLAIMER!! I have never visited the store in person, although one day I hope to.
I purchased a bike from Ian through pinkbike, a popular website for cycling news and with a thriving buy/sell community. This bike was the first purchase I have ever made through pinkbike, and the largest, most expensive purchase I have ever made for myself. Needless to say, I was weary.
Throughout the process, Ian has been an effective and professional communicator. They held the bike for me for nearly a month while I saved up the cash, and not once did they try to rush me to get the money in as quickly as possible. The bike I purchased could easily have been listed 50% higher in price, considering the component cost and the labor, but instead was sold at a more than reasonable discount. Not only that, Ian assisted me in tuning the front suspension to my weight at no extra cost.
I am incredibly impressed with Catskill bike supply, and especially so with Ian as not just a store owner but a person as well. It's not easy to find patience and grace in the used-bike market, as anyone who has used marketplace will know.
Despite being across the country and unable to visit, I can confidently recommend this shop for any of your biking necessities. If you are from pinkbike and doing a deep dive on google to figure out if Ian is a real person, they are, and they are a person worth doing business with.

Read moreLee & Mountain at Catskill Bicycle Supply Company are tops! I was ALL over the map looking to get a pair of e MTB's for my son and I. I wound up buying a pair of AWESOME Norco VLTs (SO mush fun!!!) which, to Norco's credit they will ONLY sell through dealers. RESIST the direct to consumer route-DON'T do it!!!
Catskill Bicycle Supply provided fantastic, personal service, customized the suspension, bars, etc. and dialed our bikes in to the tee for us! And... it was a better deal than any of the direct to consumer options out there and with REAL (awesome) in person people to support the bikes!!! We were SO pleased we bought a 3rd e MTB, a (hardly) used Specialized that they also dialed in...
Read moreI brought my rear wheel in on a Saturday afternoon after realizing the cassette was loose. I didn't catch the names of the two guys working but they stopped what they were doing as soon as I walked in to help me out. Mechanic set me up with a much needed spacer and tightened up the axle on the spot. I was on my way in minutes for just a few bucks. I've been to a lot (and worked at a few) bike shops and this place was 11/10 awesome. They were so quick I didn't get a chance to browse much but I did notice a few of my favorite lesser known brands and some cool locally sourced bike products as well. If I lived in the area no doubt this...
