I was there at an event this last weekend, and the manager disregarded the occupancy limits for the buildings, ignored Fire codes, ignored safety concerns, (power strips laid through puddles outside, people packed wall to wall like sardines) and helped to create a chaotic and dangerous event. Without knowing who she was (because she wasn’t my event coordinator, and should not have been going through me), she came at me and a few other vendors for the event, screaming at us to “GET OUT! GET OUT!!” When we were packaging up the last of our booth. She told us to leave all our overstock product and cut our losses. (Easily around $70,000) We were given an hours notice earlier that we only had an hour left to clean up, when we originally had two. And then, we couldn’t come in the next day to finish up, even though in our contracts, it said we had from 8AM to 10PM. If she had a different agreement with the event coordinator, that’s one thing, but I actually stood in front of another vendor (trying to print shipping labels) because I thought she was about to get aggressive with her. It was 9:55 PM, and she came over yelling. We would have been finished by the new leave time (10:00PM) had she not come over and started verbally assaulting us. The reason she gave us for behaving in such a dangerous manner? She had dinner waiting. I honestly hope she gets fired after this event, and the owners find someone else who can manage a building, and the events that take place therein. She is tragically under qualified, and should get some anger management. This was the most unprofessional experience I’ve ever had or heard of, and I’m one of thousands of people who had similar experiences during this event.
In response to the most recent comment: I really hope you follow through with that internal investigation of what happened. The person verbally assaulting us was none other than your building manager, not the Wool and Folk organizers. They came along later to help support the assault, But it was your building manager who we almost called the cops on.
I really hope this was all taken seriously, as many options are still in the air over how to proceed - though we would wish only for the end result of that woman no longer being employed...
Read moreI visited the venue to attend the Wool & Folk event in October 2023. My experience at Wool & Folk was marred by a blatant disregard for safety and a shocking lack of respect for the event's vendors. The venue, which was clearly overcrowded, had numerous walkways and emergency exits blocked by vendors' booths, creating a dangerous situation for attendees and staff alike. Despite repeated requests from attendees and vendors, the venue management did nothing to address these safety concerns, instead choosing to prioritize profits over the well-being of those present.
In addition to the safety hazards, the venue also failed to comply with ADA regulations, making it difficult for disabled attendees to navigate the event space. This lack of compliance is not only inexcusable but also highlights the venue's overall disregard for the needs of all its patrons.
The treatment of vendors by the venue staff was equally deplorable. Vendors were subjected to arbitrary rules and regulations, often enforced in a rude and unprofessional manner that bordered on violent. The lack of communication and cooperation from the venue staff made it difficult for vendors to set up their booths and operate their businesses effectively.
While I acknowledge that the event host was ultimately responsible for ensuring that the event adhered to safety codes, the venue's inaction in the face of clear violations cannot be overlooked. The venue's failure to address the safety concerns and its mistreatment of vendors demonstrate a complete lack of care for the well-being of those who attended and participated in Wool & Folk.
I strongly urge anyone considering attending or participating in an event at this venue to reconsider. The venue's disregard for safety and its poor treatment of vendors make it an unacceptable choice...
Read moreJust wanted to write and thank you for a wonderful wedding weekend . Emily and Connor put together an amazing show right down to the Playbill. She said she felt like it was a perfect opening night and I told her it was the Hamilton of weddings .
Your staff was amazingly kind, thoughtful and supportive throughout. I will loudly recommend your site to anyone who will listen ! Thank you also for the great local restaurant recommendations. We had dinner at Kitty's in Hudson and the place was great. Breakfast at Willa's was enjoyable too.
And thanks to you for listening when I needed to practice the dreaded Father of the Bride speech . It really helped to do a run-through beforehand. I heard the tattoo guys loved it ! Keep up the great work !!
Warmest...
