I was pleasantly suprised to stumble upon this combo .. Swamp Angel Antiques and frame shop... the collection of hand carved Ducks was awsome and there was a great variety of tools,bamboo fishing rods,household items, furniture, prints and so much more. the Woman was very plesant and when i inquired about the Genisis of the place turns out it was a Hard ware store in her husbands family thus the frame shop Which he ran. It had a well worn wood floor and great high ceiling you could feel the history in the place...the prices on things were reasonable to low thus making it easy to purchase something... I chose some vintage ceramic insulators .. but resisted the wood planes the bamboo rods and some great old tools.. I am in between jobs so I chose to be frugal but was still happy with my purchase ....I then took a walk down "Main st. for another hour of pleasant browsing ... an art gallery, another antique store and a walk to the river... too bad the docks on the Hudson got washed out It would make for a great lunch stop on a hudson cruise but is great for part of a road trip I suggest a trip to Main st in Catskill...

A really excellent framing shop! Great work, really wide selection of frames and mats, and the shop it is in is really lovely as well (my job was fairly simple, he said, so I got to browse the antique shop while my print was framed - where else can you do that!) What an amazing array of old working hand tools. Reminded me of being in my Dad’s backyard shed as a kid with him teaching me how to use the various planes, spokeshaves and bits.
