Mike's Homemade Candies — Local services in Town of Cheektowaga

Ordered some sponge candy for relatives in South Dakota on December 3rd. Ordered through their website and got a receipt. On Wednesday the 14th, I hadn't received or heard anything about my order (like an email confirmation or shipment notification) like you normally receive from other outfits. I enquired via email and received a prompt response the same day saying that the order had been delivered to it's destination on Friday the 9th. Now I was nervous as the recipients left for the Dominican Republic on the 10th and they didn't say anything. Well they got back last night and sent me a message that they did recieve it and forgot to let me know as they were busy getting ready for their trip. By the way, they LOVED the candy! So I'm rating 4 out of 5 stars just because I think they should let a customer know what's going on with their order. I was really happy to find out about this place right in my neighborhood of Kaisertown after browsing r/Buffalo on Reddit. Mike's Homemade Candies on Clinton came highly reviewed. The woman serving us was so nice and let me try the to-die-for peanut butter sponge candy. The chocolate was so much better than the sponge candy from Wegman's which I had been buying for years. Mike's is going to run you a little more. Wegmans is about $7 for a 1/2 lb container while Mike's is about $11-12 for a 1/2 lb but there is a night and day difference in texture and flavor. Great gift ideas in this store as many people won't treat themselves to these sorts of things but would appreciate the little luxuries as a gift. Nice and attentive people inside. Every Christmas I buy those packaged orange chocolates at the general store and my mom would always tell me about when she lived in New York decades ago and about 'Mike's chocolate'. She promised my whole life if I got to New York she'd buy me "real" orange chocolate. Well. My mom decided to send me a bunch of chocolate from Mike's Homemade Candies for Christmas this year. I just received some orange chocolate, dark orange chocolate, some sponge candy, among other trinkets. I am so happy with this gift.
