The Maids — Local services in Town of Chester

I wish I read the Google reviews before booking but I went through a Yelp search for cleaning services here in Orange County. I was specifically looking for a service to clean the house before we moved in. Here’s the rundown: overpriced and underdelivered. They left the house doing half the job- soap scum still in the shower, dirty windowsills that weren’t even touched, a dirty microwave and stove, hand prints on windows and walls were still everywhere (from the previous tenant who had kids), and a broken carbon monoxide detector because it was knocked off the wall.

I specifically chose The Maids because of a few factors: they claimed to clean EVERYTHING (windows, doors, walls, ceiling fans, doors, appliances etc.. but they don’t), they use disinfecting cleaners which is important in our Covid world, they specifically focused in move in/move out cleaning which is what we needed before our big move in, and I was able to talk to someone about every expectation before booking. I was very clear and even received a confirmation email for all the work that would be done. Please don’t be fooled by any of the above because nothing was left as expected.

Day of service I was told that they needed 4 hours instead of the typical 2-3 hours. That’s fine, sometimes the space is a little bigger than expected. After the crew left we we noticed all the issues- the dirty appliances that were never cleaned, the dirt still on the windowsills, the smudges on the windows, and the other doors/walls/other surfaces that didn’t look like they were touched. It wasn’t what I was expecting for a crew of 4 people at $220 per hour.

When I informed the sales manager of the issues I was told different stories and excuses for different issues. They did offer for a crew to come back for a cleaning but we were already in the process of moving our belongings in and had started to clean what they had failed to. I was extremely unimpressed with this lackluster service, especially for the cost. It was silly to pay someone for what was originally supposed to be delivered and we had to do ourselves. I hired The Maids to thoroughly clean my house that was scheduled to go on the market. I was assured the entire home (excluding the basement) would be immaculate upon my return home from work. Well, to my surprise, I was extremely disappointed in their work. My father was there to move any and all furniture necessary to clean but he was never asked and he did not want to get in their way. They left the light fixtures full of dust, 4/5 ceiling fans left undusted, window shelves never cleaned or dusted. Couches never moved (easily moved on hardwood floor) so behind was never cleaned. Ran my dishwasher which flooded my kitchen floor. Master bedroom shelf left untouched. Main bathroom tub area never scrubbed clean. Items on shelf in shower never moved to clean. I AM 100% UNSATISFIED WITH THE MAIDS SERVICE. DO NOT USE!!!!! THEY ARE A RIPOFF!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THEY CHARGED $260+ FOR A 1400 SQ FT RANCH???

I called these guy's to do some basic cleaning of the first floor of my house. Essentially, I paid $350 for a group of people to clean whsy was already clean. They didn't dust any walls or ceiling fans. It looks like some of my windows and mirrors were more smudgy after they left. Dust was still on my bookshelves. One of my trash cans in my office wasn't emptied. They left some trash behind, an empty cleaner bottle was left behind and I almost slipped on my kitchen floor. They musta used some type of soap and not properly cleaned it off. I almost broke my neck trying to make a sandwich. Needless to say I dropped my sandwich as well. I'm not recommending this cleaning service to anymore unless you want to waste money and feel...
