(12/30/24) Finally 3rd time! Always the best service and great culinary experience! Our server Heather was very efficient and professional, saw Chef Tony come upstairs to bring takeout order, but probably wanted to see the situation in the dining room...I know how that feels. Overall, always the best experience. Thank you very much to all the staff and Happy New Year 🎊

Lamb Shank (Special Menu), Rustic Steak, Ravioli, Penne a la vodka, Calamari, French Onion Soup, New England Clam Chowder, and did't forget to get dessert, Apple Cake, Crème Brûlée, Chocolate Temptation (Special Menu).

(9/3/2023) 2nd time at the RW! Just wow to the experience overall. FOH staff was very friendly and helpful. Chef Tony's wife is amazing person! And I would like to give my "Thanks" to the Chef Tony & the kitchen staff!!

French Onion Soup (taste the flavor from the scratch made) Moules Marinières/Mussels in White Wine Sauce (one of the best I have ever had) Neapolitan Pizza (sauce and dough was fantastic) Ravioli (flavorful) Chicken Special (very juicy and tender) Rustic Wheelhouse Steak (amazing as usual) **And don't forget the homemade dessert. I am very happy, that's all I need to say!! Tiramisu Apple Cake w/ Ice Cream

(9/4/2022)This was my first time being here. The food was amazing! Don't compare it with other ordinary Italian restaurants. They care about the quality(Homemade pasta was so good, pizza was fantastic and ribeye steak was great), not quantity and the ingredients they use are fresh and tasty. The staff was very friendly and kind especially the young lady who served us. As for dessert, since it was homemade also, I couldn't resist ordering tiramisu, chocolate mousse, crème brulee and an apple cake w/ ice cream. My family and I have been going to the wheelhouse for years. They have good food and the location is great however the service is my biggest problem with this place and after the recent experience we encounter I don’t believe my family and I will be coming back. Which I find sad because again it was our local spot that we enjoyed for years. The waitress named Nicolette was not only rude but kept giving us the wrong items. At first, it was a honest mistake with no harm done but the waitress kept catching an attitude after explaining that she kept bringing the wrong items to our table… Not once , not twice but 5 times. Again, no big deal until she made it a big deal with her attitude about items that she had gotten wrong. Now maybe she was feeling overwhelmed But that is no excuse in treating a reoccurring customer.

Finally, we felt rushed. I couldn’t understand why but she later informed us she had reserved our table for someone else. I had so many questions after being told this. Why sit us down at a reserved table to begin with? Why are we being rushed when we are spending over $100 with drinks , food & deserts?? Why ruin a relationship with a local and recurring customer that gives you business? Lastly, you sat us down at this table in the first place and therefore isnt fair to make new arrangements for the other “people” instead of kicking us out of the table?

At this point, my family and I feel that it is time to find a new local spot with people who treat their customers with respect and not get overwhelmed with their personal life and then take it out on you. They need more...

Friends and I visited this homey little restaurant on Sunday, September 25th in the evening. Service was attentive and friendly! Our waitress Danielle, was very nice and checked on us often! I observed the waiter at another table serving a family that had “difficult” children! He was so patient, efficient and just amazing! We really enjoyed the specialty cocktails, Caprese and the Tuscan soup as our apps. Warm bread was also brought to the table. The house Ravioli, Fettuccini Alfredo, and Squash Gnocchi we’re our entrées. My friends stated that their food was very good! I on the other hand, found the Gnocchi special absolutely horrible! I tried very hard to like it, consuming about a third of it, but I just couldn’t eat any more than that. I thought I could perhaps take the uneaten portion home and “doctor” it up, but decided to just let it be cleared away. I usually ask about the preparation of this dish when ordering because not every restaurant can make good authentic- handmade Gnocchi. Since I I didn’t ask, I just let it go. These Gnocchi were ridged and tough and tasted like some I bought in a grocery story…and threw out! The sage butter sauce had little taste. It was just oily! We ended our meal with tiramisu that was very good! All in all a very pleasant dining experience! I would definitely come back to this restaurant when in Chester! (…and leave any...
