My fiance just got here hair done and this is what she had to say "Laura from JLK salon is truly a very talented stylist. I have been to many hairstylists who have angled my hair with razors, even combs with built in razors (what a shame right?), but Laura used only scissors, skills and not a razor in sight. I was very impressed! She colored my hair, gave me half head highlights, and a cut. I have very long hair, and she did an amazing job with it, i would have to say one of the best i have had in a while. They're not very talkative but! They sure know how to get the job done right but of course for a price...a really really big price. Which brings me to the reason why I couldn't quite give them that one last star. I have had my hair colored at supercuts for three years now because of the good price but this time I wanted to experience an actual salon so I made sure to save up haha. Before going I made sure to call to see how much everything would cost beforehand and I was told that it would all be $190, I said well it's not too far from the 150 I normally pay so I said why not, let's do this! Finally the day comes, I'm feeling really good with the masterpiece Laura crafted but by the time they charged me, the $190 suddenly didn't exist! Instead i was smacked with a scary $260!!! And that's the story behind the long lost fifth star- very very expensive. But would I say its worth it? Well for me personally absolutely hands down YES because I get my hair colored once a year. I definitely would make the investment for true talent. Kudos Laura!...

My first time here—my hair wasn’t so bad that I left in tears— but I paid $140 (plus $30 tip) for a single process color and cut, and I left unhappy with both (even an expensive salon in Long Island I go to charges less than that and does the job right)! My stylist was very nice, but I told her at least four times my roots were too dark and didn’t match and she didn’t seem to care to correct it. She kept saying “it will look better once it’s dried” and then once it was dry her response was “well maybe it doesn’t match up in some areas but overall it’s blended”... so I should be happy with/pay for a job half done? [pictures on my facebook review]. It looks like I still have roots, just less dark than my natural roots.... I also said that I do NOT like my hair angled in the front, but she angled it anyway (it looks nice still, but the customer’s opinion should matter). MOST EXPENSIVE for LEAST SATISFIED is how I feel about this salon.

I called the Salon all week trying to schedule an appointment today since I’m going to a wedding tomorrow and they finally called me back and gave me a 4:30pm appointment, I was there at 4:15pm and Luis was immediately negative, unwilling to do what I wanted, he explained that I needed to wait to get highlights again, I understood and I asked him if he can at least bleach my 2 lines of extensions that I have that I have never bleached or colored them before and they are dark brown color and he said NO! I can’t because if I do I will be leaving here at 10pm and this is very expensive! I never asked for price, he assumed that I couldn’t afford it or I didn’t want to pay for it! Very disappointed I was recommended by a friend that loved the work they did for her but it was a different stylist, Luis needs to be more people person and listen to their clients and stop been so negative!
