Almost speechless. This was a roller-coaster ride through mani pedi hell today. I started off in good spirits as this place was open early and had appointments available (first red flagđ©) when I arrived I was thrilled at the covid safety measures in place: touchless scan thermometer, loads of sanitizer and wipes, physical barriers, even rolling barriers and employees double masked. The lady who showed me inside directed me to the wall of nail colors and a table full of nail displays and while it is a nice touch it can be very overwhelming to a newcomer at the salon. I took about 5 minutes to choose my toe and hand colors which was apparently way too long for the nail tech because she was growing visibly impatient (red flag đ© #2) but hey this is a 2 week color commitment here at $60 bucks. She finally hands me a book of nail colors and I sit in my pedi chair. Next thing I know...CLICK.....she cut my nails with clippers without ever asking if I wanted cut or file (mind you Im still distracted by the overwhelming nail color choices and the pressure to choose) Fast forward to her filing my fingernail polish (while doing pedi) in order to remove the gel....she's waaay aggressive and destroying my cuticles and nail bed. She then applies the little cotton pads and foil and puts Lunch Lady gloves on my hands (never had this done before) and again resumes pedi. Fast forward about 4 minutes and my hands feel like raging balls of lava from some sort of anime episode, I begin blowing on them (through my mask like an idiot) and fanning them and look down to see the Lunch Lady glove melting to my skin, nail tech lady reaches up and like a scene from House or ER rips the Lunch Lady glove off of my burning melted flesh. Oweee, it hurts. Then uses scalpel looking nail torture device to aggressively scrape polish off of 2 nails in turn breaking a month of growth on 2 nails. Resume pedi. Once my pedi was finished lead to the mani chair where a second later a divider is placed next to me and WHAT....despite there being about 15 empty mani stations a woman gets seated right next to me getting a "fill" on her acrylics đł I am inundated with a toxic plume of acrylic dust and fumes. Now, nail tech lady begins once again aggressively chiseling away at my delicate cuticles and nailbed and again to my astonishment starts slicing away at my cuticles and yanking at a hang nail with the nippers without so much as a soak in some warm sudsy water and a drop of cuticle oil....hello you just missed 3 steps in the manicure process. Never, in all my self pampering 44 years have I ever had a salon fail to soak, oil and wash during a mani. She also never fixed the 2 nails she broke. Finally, I think Ive reached the end of my hellish manicure and she says "free (indistinguishable words)" as she leads me over to a vat of some pleasant smelling liquid and plunges my hands into a scalding hot pot of liquid wax and olfactory pleasing aromatherapy essential oils. I think I feel the faint sensation of the layers of my skin beginning to separate and then she wraps my freshly fondued fingertips in cling wrap like a pound of fresh cuts from a New York Deli. She takes me back to the mani station where Im thinking to myself "Oh God what more can she possibly do and who did I wrong in my life to deserve this" I stare at my hands which now look like they are from the Wax Monster episode of Scooby Doo and begin to pray that she lets the wax cool enough before peeling my hands like a fleshy piece of fruit (she does) and I then begin to escape towards the front counter where I find (why should I be surprised) NO CARDS ACCEPTED but they do have an ATM for a modest fee of 75 cents. OK, I withdraw the $60 for the setvices rendered and an additional $20 which I plan on giving $10 of as a tip for my pedi (still pretty generous I think) and without even asking if I would like change the tech crams the full $80 in her pocket and smiles saying "Byeeee" I walk to my vehicle and rush home to photograph my scalded hands and plunge them into cold baths....
Read moreI came in to get acrylic nails done here about 6 days ago and the service was horrible!! They told me my nails would be around 44-50 on the phone, I said alright thatâs fine, and made an appointment to come in for me and a friend. They were welcoming at first, and the process of actually getting the nails done went fine. I finished before my friend and I was paying for both of us, so I went up to pay. I was expecting it to be around 80 or 90 like they had said on the phone, but they proceed to tell me it is 120 dollars. I asked why and was answered that they were more because we got matte, I said okay but that shouldnât be a 30 dollar upcharge. They then tell me that I had to pay extra for my friends because hers were a little longer (which her nail tech pressured her into, she even asked for them shorter), again I said okay and pulled 120 out of the atm because they do not take card. When I handed them the 120 they then tell me its 121 and so I pull out another 20 and hand it to him, he gives me back 10 and just says tip. After this I was pretty upset, because I wasnât going to tip after my nails were already looking flimsy and botched, and they all but kicked me out at this point. I ended up going home and wasnât going to say anything, but the nails began falling off and breaking within a day. I went back today for a refund and they tell me no refunds, and that there was no way I payed that much and that I couldnât prove it because I used the ATM (thatâs how they get you). Then they try telling me how much I payed for my nails and it goes from 45, to 53, to 56, to 57, so their essentially taking as much as they can scam out of you for nails. I got upset and said the nails were botched and falling apart but they were all surrounding me and my boyfriend, talking to each other, being rude, so we swore at them and left. As we were leaving, a girl followed us out and flipped us off. We didnât say anything else, but will be reporting this business. DO NOT GO HERE!!! They change prices, botch your nails, have horrible customer service, and ensure to only take cash! Worst experience I have ever personally had. (My friends nails are also chipping, falling completely off,...
Read moreWent over the weekend with my mom and 5 year old for manicures and pedicures for each of us. We opted for regular polish on our toes and their nails and I chose to get gel polish on my nails. The nail tech did a great job with the design I showed her, she took her time and gave it her best effort. Shortly after getting home I noticed my daughters nails and toes already had chipped paint (not even a half an hour later). My mom called me the next morning and said she was going to go back because many of the paint on her finger nails were chipped as well. After going back to get their nail polish fixed, I was told Iâd be charged extra because we wanted to try out gel with the hope that the polish would last longer. I said okay, after fixing both their nails I was charged $28 for my mom and he said my daughters would be free. Upon getting home my daughter had one nail already partially chipped and by 3 hours later another one is chipped. I am extremely disappointed in the service they got and that her nails are chipped again after getting gel polish. We have a family vacation planned for this weekend and wanted to have special nails for the trip. Guess Iâll be painting them again here at home before leaving for our trip.
Picture is of my daughters nails with gel polish 4 hours after getting them âfixedâ. The other picture is of my nails.
*Update after getting my gel manicure just 3 days ago. My nails have already started to show signs of wear and tear. In addition, on one of my nails the paint has just chipped. I am completely disappointed and will not be returning to the salon for any future visits. Will post an updated picture showing the chipped gel paint. I wish I could chang my review from 1 star to 0. Please save yourself the trouble and a ton of money by doing a...
