Buyer beware! I used to like shopping at Hannaford. The prices might be a bit higher, but they have a good selection, were clean, and close by. However, over the past year my view has changed. And after today, I doubt I will be a customer except in emergencies. Hannaford has an app, which as near as I can tell, functions only as a complex scam and bait-and-switch scheme. For over a year, coupons have consistently not worked, and often the quarterly "rewards" fail to work either, and simply expire. When I complain, I am told you must clip the coupons 15 min before you check out, "Because our app doesn't work right." Today I was informed by the manager that one must clip coupons AT LEAST 24 hours in advance. This is ridiculous. Despite being able to demonstrate that I have the correct items in my cart, with valid coupons, they are never honored. The managers state, "We aren't allowed to take off the money or honor the coupons on the app." This means you are lured into the store, only to find at checkout you must pay full price. This has been occurring for a full year. The managers state the app is run by a third party, but they will not divulge the company. There is a number to call, but no way to submit documentation, such as receipts and screencaps showing failure of coupons to work. Today alone I had approximately $20 in coupons clipped, none of which worked, and the manager refused to honor them. The managers and checkout persons acknowledge the app doesn't work, and I have seen many others complain, with the same responses given. So, clearly, Hannaford is aware that the prices and deals they offer in writing via their app are illusory and will not be honored at the register, forcing consumer to pay full price. This is blatant fraud. I will be contacting the NY STate Atty General, and encourage others to...
Read moreWe never had a problem going to this Hannaford. From very close proximity from our house, to the cost of items, to selection. However, yesterday was a notch on why we might switch due to the customer service. We had went to the meat section and tried to get a prime rib roast for sudden change of Thanksgiving plans for my husband and I. We both got the flu (we're both vaccinated) and so we masked up and headed in. They didn't have much for a selection, so we asked the guy behind the counter if they had any two rib of a roast. And right from there he was giving us attitude. He grabbed one small one from the case. And kinda aggressively hands it off to us. We then proceeded to grab some water. And I remembered that I needed get needed something at produce section. So as we walked back to there, we heard the guy complaining that to other worker "these last minute holiday shoppers gonna have to learn. And he wasn't going to go above beyond." I am sorry my husband and I couldn't time getting the flu more appropriately with your guy in the meat department willingness for customer service. But what we can appropriately time is NEVER getting meat at this location! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving with your family and friends. While some...
Read moreI have always preferred the customer service touch at my local Hannaford, especially since our dollars need to be stretched more these days.
Today was not a good day at Hannaford. Unfortunatel my husband had wanted pork chops for a meal this week, and the meat selection was limited this afternoon prior to 3pm.
I waited a the Butcher Station to be waited on and other individuals were there as well. When the young man asked if he could help me and I stated there weren't any center cut loin chops and I would like to get some cut; his first response was to state your going to have to wait I am the only person here. He portroyed himself as being overwhelmed and frustrated; so with this response we decided to stop shopping.
On our way to the cashier to be cashed out; we stopped by the customer service center and stated how disapppointed we were. We stated their customer service has always been what has distinguished this market chain from others.
Today was very...
