I am sad to have to write a negative review especially, for a local small business. My daughter came here to purchase her wedding dress and our initial experience was good. However, after she purchased her dress the experience declined. My daughter was notified via text that her dress was in. At this time she called to set up an appointment to go and try it on. She was told by Nancy that she can set up an appointment to try on her dress but that she (Nancy) actually, had girls that had appointments to buy dresses not try them on. I'm not sure what Nancy meant by this comment because my daughter BOUGHT her dress from here!! I remember my daughter calling me very upset about this! Just what a bride needs......RIGHT!!! My daughter did have her scheduled appointment with Nancy's daughter who was wonderful and great to work with. My son in law wanted to shop local and support local businesses so he wanted to rent all the tuxes from the wedding dress. Nancy was so RUDE to all the men getting fitted for their tuxes. She was getting their names wrong and being VERY unprofessional and RUDE!! The girl working with Nancy that day was very nice and professional to the men. After getting fitted for their tuxes the men went out for lunch and my husband (who is very calm and laid back) was so bothered by the way they were all treated that he went back and asked to cancel his order and for his deposit back.Nancy's first question to him was... Do the bride and groom know what you're doing? Then she proceeded to tell him she shouldn't give him his deposit back. He told her he would just block the payment at the bank. She did give him it back. Nancy also proceeded to tell my husband that he wouldn't find the same tux anywhere! LMAO REALLY!! We went to Charles men shop in Batavia and WOW!! they had the same exact tux and no RUDENESS!!! They were very professional and a pleasure to do business with. I do have to say that I called to let The wedding dress know that I would be picking up my daughters wedding dress (She was supposed to get it altered there). and I did speak to Nancy. I let her know what the men told me and she said she didn't feel like she acted that way or treated them in a rude manner. She did write an apology text to my son in law which was well deserved but too late. You don't treat people this way!!I know this review is long but I feel people need to know how Nancy treated these men, in which most of them are first responders. Not that anybody should EVER be treated this way!!!! In this case, I guess it didn't pay to shop small town local. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THE WEDDING DRESS...
   Read moreWhen I ordered my dress, I was told to order the sample size even though I couldn’t sit because my consultant, the owner, and another consultant assured me the dress could be let out and not to go a size up. My wedding is now 7 weeks away and my seamstress told me the dress cannot be let out due to how the designer cut the fabric. There are slits cut across the seams leaving holes when opened so the allowance is unusable. Unacceptable for the negligent lack of sizing knowledge, especially with in house alterations. Great shopping experience initially, but the customer service drastically decreased post purchase. I called three times and every time I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome to call. When my dress came in, they texted me to come in try it on. When I called to come in, they said “isn’t your wedding not until next June” as if it’s an inconvenience for me to come in when they gave me explicit instructions to and I wanted to buy a veil. When I went in, they told me to call the first of the year to schedule alterations and when I called they made me feel like a burden for calling and were confused. They also told me they only do alterations on Fridays and you have to take the first slot available on that Friday, they do not work with your schedule. If you’re the only one that day you can’t pick what time to go. This was not explained when we talked about alterations initially. I called one last time to confirm the color of my dress to make sure my shoes matched since I had to purchase before alterations and they were extremely snarky and asked multiple times “so what do you want” in an angry tone when explaining I just wanted to confirm the dress color I ordered. Very disappointed I spent $1,800 on a dress and $500 on accessories to be treated this way by three separate consultants. Not to mention the pearls falling out of my belt immediately after carefully opening the first time. They were very unprofessional after making your non refundable purchase. I could understand just one bad interaction, but this was every interaction with multiple staff members.    Read moreWORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I had an appointment first thing for a Saturday morning; it was dead. One would assume with the lack of other customers and there being at least three girls working, that we would have been waited on properly. I showed the girl a picture of what I wanted and she directed us over to the racks. Which to mention the selection was very, very slim. Which is ironic since the website stated that they had more dresses than any other store locally. We pulled all our own dresses. One of the customer service reps put the dresses in a rather large open room.There was only a few chairs and no dressing rooms. We weren't sure if that was the room to change in, so we waited....waited...and waited. Finally one of my girls went to see if they had went on break, since no one cared to direct us to what to do next. She gave us the okay to try on dresses and disappeared once again. Some of the girls felt uncomfortable dropping down to their panties in front of each other, so they didn't even try on dresses. All of my girls are rather small and as many know the dresses are always in bigger sizes. A few would try on the dresses while the others did the pinning to adjust the dresses. A job that should have been done by one of the customer service reps.
I have never written a review online, ever. I have been SO FAR from a bridezilla and that's the honest truth. I felt robbed on the experience with my girls. We will be headed back to Alfred Angelo in Greece, NY to get their dresses. I was fortunate enough to go there for my dress and had THE BEST experience. It's sad because we did find the dress that I wanted at this location. I have ten bridesmaids and if they had done their job like they should have they would have had made a lot of money off of my party. My suggestion to them is to hire people who actually enjoy what they do. I know working on Saturday's suck. I did it for years but do...
