The cashier on reg 1 and manager (juan?) around 1:35 pm on 07/23/2024 denied honoring an item that was on their clearance rack for $5. The cashier (hispanic lady) ripped the red label off and called the manager (hispanic guy) over "to verify" she stated to him that i told her "I FOUND THE TAG AND VASE TOGETHER" in a condescending tone as if she was accusing me of price tag switching. He claimed that it was not like that and had been put on there. Weird because she peeled it off and the original price peeled too, as if its been on there for a while. It doesn't help that the product was in fact damaged...makes sense to the price being put down. I asked for the price to be honored as marked and he said they couldn't do that because the "barcodes didn't match" how the heck would I, a customer, know to rip the red label off to see if the barcodes were the same? I work next to this location, we also deal with ridiculous situations but We all know the #1 rule to customer service if it's MARKED down, it's honored AS SUCH, simple. I even grabbed another item, same brand also marked down and she seemed like she questioned the poor red tag on it too, tried to pull it apart as if i put another item in it for the rice of one lol!! I wouldn't be surprised if I was stereotyped for all the other young people who come around this plaza to steal and tag switch from our retail stores. Still wrong to assume!! The way it was handled felt super unprofessional. White Plains Homegoods in Central Plaza do better!! Know your store, know your product, and know your customers! I shop at Homegoods often and enjoy picking out furniture/nic-naks for my new home here all the time. Ruining a customers experience because you don't take accountability for your staff's wrong doings is not cool. I will not spend another dollar at this location after this incident and i will definitely inform my...
Read moreThe managers were so unfair to me, I ended my employment here about a year ago. When I was employed I made it clear that, as I had just started working, I had no previous cash register experience. I underwent rushed "training" and began working. As a 17 yr old, I was extremely micromanaged and was always made to feel like a burden by managers (raven, mildred, adrianna r & mark) whenever I would ask for help, which made me shy away. I recall one day, I was crying as I was working behind the register because of how alone I felt. A customer was the one to reassure me that everything would be okay. Countless times, you could walk into the break room and observe me with my head down on the table. The positive things I did were ALWAYS overlooked and the mistakes that I was bound to make as a new hire, were heavily focused on. I was also the youngest worker there at the time, so you already know how that goes. No one could ever say that I was disrespectful! They thought I wasn't going to...
Read moreThere is nothing like finding a store that has it right. Home Goods carries everything you need from furniture, pictures, decor, rugs, kids rooms, kitchen ware, bedroom sheets and bathroom needs as well as curtains, pillows, too much to go on. Advice is, when you see something you want, get it, it wont be there when you come back. PS, I lost out on a lamp I took too much time to see if the color was right...gone that same day. They are doing better with damage goods for sale but people dropping breakable items is constant. Sometimes I find a one of a kind one of a kind great gift and the store is very crowded with Holiday merchandise currently. Lines are long...
