I am a uniformed service member with greenburgh police department, as soon as me and my partner walked into your establishment on 8/15/23 @11:50am, your female employee on the line did not make us feel welcomed one single bit, she had a disgusted look on her face, I continued to keep a smile on my face despite the dirty looks she gave us, when I politely asked for a “bowl to go please”, she proceeded to slam my bowl onto the line and then threw the lids around, she was clearly angry. Your employee began to rush me and my partners order and decided to do both meals at the same time very quickly, there were no other customers in line at the time so the need for her to rush me was very uncalled for and resulted in my order being sloppily made. I then specifically asked “can I please get a little bit more of the sour cream” that’s when she scooped a huge amount of sour cream and slammed it onto my bowl, leaving both me and my partner in shock.. at this point, I did NOT feel comfortable asking her for a side of hot sauce, that’s when I decided to ask your cashier Kenwan if I can please get a side of hot sauce because I was uncomfortable with asking her. I did not want her to redo my order at the time because i feared she would give me a very hard time about that and make the tension in the restaurant worse than it already was. I was very nice and polite to her the whole time even after the fact she gave me and my partner rude looks and she clearly lacked quality customer service skills. Read moreLast week i went in and upon entering one of the employees yells - you have to order online so we ordered online. The next customers that entered were able to order at the counter. After waiting 10 minutes because now the order is a mobile order I went to ask and they hadn't started our order yet. I asked why we had to order online when there were closed to 10 people after us that did not and was rudely told that the system was down. I waited for my order an additional 5 minutes, went to my seat and opened my bowl to find that my order was incorrect and gave the bowl back to them. The employee was looking for the other top and was about to put it on the bowl i returned when i advised that it needed to be thrown out. fast forward to today when the employee who was making the rice dropped some on the dirty counter , scooped it into her bare hands and proceeded to dump the rice into the bowl of clean rice. When I advised the employee at the counter, same one that was going to put the top on the food i returned the week prior, she stated i didn't see her do that. I advised her that I sure did and that she wouldn't be able to see the employee so it since she was facing me and her back was to the employee. The employee making the rice realized that I saw her and went to put on gloves and scooped out the top layer of the rice to try and remove the rice that she retrieved from the dirty counter with her bare hands. Read moreI would give this place more stars if the quality and quantity of the food was more consistent. I place my orders on the app to avoid having to wait on line and in hopes of avoiding any errors. Some times the orders are perfect - portions are 'extra' when I specify 'extra' for the rice and beans. And the chips are perfectly seasoned with a decent amount of chips in the bag.
Then there are days like tonight where the portions were small, the quesadilla has more air than cheese & chicken, and the chips are stale and tasteless. I don't understand what causes these inconsistencies but it's disappointing especially when you're looking forward to a hearty meal, and you wind up with something underwhelming. This makes me not want to order any more, and then I allow a month or two to lapse and I give it another try, in hopes that there is some improvement.
And again I am disappointed. :( The crew is very young and works hard but there needs to be better consistency in how the food is doled out. I don't have a crazy, complicated order. It's always 2 bowls and 1 quesadilla, and maybe some chips. But it appears that they have to rush and as a result the quality suffers. Please make this better. You have a great location and a diverse community that needs something more Mexican...
