De Voe's Rainbow Orchard — Local services in Town of Halfmoon

I love a good farm stand - and this place was that and then some - there was a post office - and a u-haul rental. The produce I bought was a stalk of brussel sprouts - which was priced very reasonably - corn, which was fantastic - along with a few other produce items. I also purchased something from their bakery - everything looked wonderful - I chose one of the fresh baked breads, I take care of an elderly couple, and they love a little sweet treat for breakfast - so I got them the Peach Melba Bread (which also had raspberries in it).. I had a piece also, and we all thought it was delicious.

I went there to rent a van - and when I saw all the fresh produce and the freshly baked - baked goods- I couldn't resist- and I'm glad about that.

The lady that took care of the van rental was very knowledgeable - down to business -~ get your stuff and get outta here - lol .. that's the way I like it- she tells ya what you need to know - and she knows her job well. We went there on Sunday for apples. People were there with no masks (more than one) who were handling the apples and putting them back on the table. When I spoke with the girl at the register, she claimed she didn’t see them. We left quickly. I later contacted the manager, Lynn, who stated that she can’t do anything about them and can’t afford to lose their money in this economy. When I stated she will lose mine and others who are concerned about no mask wearers touching the food, she said “You just don’t understand” and hung up. This is unsafe handling of food but Lynn made it clear that she didn’t care about her customers. I have lived here for over 60 years and my family, friends, and myself have been customers. We went to Devoe's this fall for apple picking and we're very happy with the quality of apples, the farm store, cider donuts and the employees! They were all lovely and incredibly nice, most of the employees were seasonal but came back every year to work at the farm , they were all very happy with the Devoe family and truly enjoyed helping the people who were shopping in the storeand picking apples. This spring I was looking for mulch and asked the neighborhood Facebook group for a recommendation, to my delight Devoe's came up! I had no idea that they had mulch! Well they do!
