"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." - Confucius
When I read this quote I thought about Rebecca Balbach. An incredible teacher who loves her job more than anyone I know . As a student, parent or even just an observer you can see that teaching ballet is way more than just a job to her. The way she teaches her classes truly shows her love and passion for ballet and her desire to share this beautiful art form with each of her students. The amount of hard work and dedication that Mrs.Rebecca puts into her dance school and each student is beyond compare. If you want to get real ballet education with proper technique and have a teacher who has been properly trained herself, then I would strongly recommend Balbach School of Dance. Rebecca does not favorite any student or puts any individual above the others. Instead she makes every student strive to better themselves rather than compete with each other. As a student I have seen a great improvement in myself throughout time. When I first came to Balbach School of Dance I loved the fact that instead of saying " Good Job " all the time with me knowing I was doing something wrong, she corrected my mistakes one by one and made sure I understood each of the correction. The first day of class I was already learning terminology and working on executing proper technique . After that day I continued to work harder each day and was eagerly waiting for my next class to start. A good dance teacher is someone who has a lot of knowledge of what they are teaching, gives corrections when needed, makes sure you fully understand why a correction is given and why something is done that way, and cares deeply about her students success. Rebecca Balbach fulfills all of those qualities which is why Balbach School of Dance is the right place to go when looking for a proper ballet education. Not only will it help your child grow as a dancer , but will make them a strong, persistent and hard...
Read moreI can't recommend Ballet Rockland's program enough! What my kids learn there is so much more than dance (though they learn that, too!). Rebecca ensures that the environment in the studio is nurturing and accepting...not just between Rebecca and her students, but also among all the dancers there. There are no cliques or competitive drama; everyone (from beginning students to the pre-professionals) helps each other and learns from each other.
My kids (ages 5-10) feel safe, happy, and at home at Ballet Rockland; my 10 year old has fallen in love with ballet and has decided to pursue the pre-pointe program this year. It's amazing to see such a young person understand and follow-through with such a commitment to educating herself; I give a lot of credit to Rebecca for helping to instill that in her.
All that PLUS superior classical ballet technique! I think what sets Ballet Rockland apart from other studios is the focus and attention on fostering talent rather than running a dance school business. You can tell how much time and effort Rebecca puts into each and every student to make sure they become the best they can be. She ensures proper technique and training is adhered to.at all times, and offers students multiple performance opportunities throughout the year.
Take a moment to check out Ballet Rockland's facebook page and website, and you'll see what I mean. You can immediately see the joy in the kids' faces as well as the strong technique that they learn. For anyone looking to enroll their child in ballet classes (for recreation or for serious training), definitely look into all that Ballet Rockland...
Read moreGiving up the “comp kid” lifestyle to come to Ballet Rockland is absolutely the best choice I made for my training before going off to college. Owner, Rebecca Tew Curns is so much more than a ballet instructor, because of how above and beyond she goes with her job. When I first arrived 2 years ago, Mrs.Rebecca took the time to know what my personal goals are not only in the studio but outside the studio. Not only was she patient with me on my big transition from competitions to strictly ballet, but she also provided me with multiple pointe shoes understanding that money can be tight sometimes(those things aren’t cheap people). The students and the staff are incredibly welcoming that in such a short time I felt that I had a little family away from home. Wether a student chooses to train and go on a professional track or take classes recreationally, you will certainly benefit here! If it wasn’t for Mrs.Rebecca, I wouldn’t be able to say I’m going off to college shortly receiving scholarships from my college choice to combine my passion for dance and sports/medicine. My words can’t emphasize enough how good this school is, and how good it has treated my family and I. 5 stars isn’t enough. Thank you...
