Georgewood Florist — Local services in Town of Hempstead

Just went in to purchase flowers for a good friend the entire experience was awful .2 girls are in the front trimming flowers a Spanish old man was the only one that came from behind to ask me if I needed help and it was like not asking him at all he just pointed to the flowers and told me these are for women and these are for men. then a young guy came from the back told me the same thing. I also asked how much are the roses and they told me 1 rose was $6.00 dollars so a dozen would be about $79.00 which is ridiculous I ended up going with an arrangement of which I asked if he can make me a fresh one and was told no because they were recently made. So I picked one that was already made and had to ask for a bag to put it in because hello it’s snowing he gave me an ugly black bag that was too small and didn’t fit then he went to the back brought out another black bag that was bigger and all wrinkled. Why a black bag in the first place and all wrinkled I said forget it then they brought a clear bag and told me to choose one. I tried to get a card but everything was Valentine’s Day cards and the ones that weren’t Valentine’s Day were black. The Spanish old man and every single staff no one was friendly at all and when you walk in it does not smell like fresh flowers no one even greets you . I wanted to run out and with my purchase and nothing but a clear bag to cary it on. I even asked if they had a regular cute teddy bear to add to the flower arrangement and they told me no all they had was Valentine’s Day did not at any point tried to recommend anything or upsell. I have been going to Georgewood for years since they opened. Recently over the past couple of years, the woman at the counter is rude, yet I still would go back. Today was the final straw, she handed me the arrangement and it was wrapped the same as the past few times, carelessly. I asked her for some possible tape and she was bothered, tried to staple the plastic which didn’t work and she sat right back down in her chair, not a care in the world the wrapping looked like complete garbage and the arrangement could and did easily fall out. Customers are what make your business, customer service is huge with having returning customers. I am done and will never be back, or refer my businesses to them ever again. Its a-shame that due to customer service, they will lose customers when they have nice products (even a bit overpriced, but was always willing to pay for that). I wanted to send something special for an upcoming holiday to a beloved aunt who lives at North Shore Towers. I have used other florists in the area and they are fine but I thought I would try Georgewood. They were absolutely amazing. Their website was wonderful and gave me lots of choices. In addition, I was confused about something and called them to confirm things. The person I got was incredibly kind and helpful, these are pictures of the assorted roses and the gourmet chocolates. I just got a call from my aunt and my cousins who are just thrilled. Looking at these, I am too. I have my new Florist for that area and I’m very, very happy.
