DO NOT BRING ANYTHING OF VALUE HERE. If I could put negative stars I would. I have no words to describe what this "Jeweler" did to my engagement ring. I came in for a routine speed bump installation to make my ring a little smaller and I specifically asked for speed bumps because I had a unique engraving in another language that was really difficult to find someone to do. I asked him to be very careful with the engraving and to install the two little balls on either side of it. When I got a call an hour later that my ring was done I was a little wary considering the delicate work that needed to be done. Turns out my gut feeling was right. He DESTROYED my ring in more ways than one. He welded on the balls lopsided and one of them was terribly melted ONTO my engraving! When I pointed out that one of the letters was totally covered his wife that works there had the audacity to say "so what?" I just about died at that point and when he went to try and fix it in the back he not only made it worse but he also welded a black burn onto my ring. He later came out and explained that this was a platinum ring (which he knew) and that he can't weld white gold on platinum. THEN WHY DID YOU TAKE THE JOB?! I left in tears and had to pay a lot of money once I finally found someone willing to try and fix what he did. When the jeweler that redid my ring saw what this person did he said that whoever did it is not a jeweler but a thief and should "have his hands removed." His words not mine. I also gave him my grandmas wedding band to cut down to size (super easy for a Jeweler) and he scratched it up and welded it back horrendously as well. The few jewelers I went to said that he used the wrong material to weld it. This ring was in my family for over 50 years and survived the Soviet Union only to be ruined in seconds by this man. When I came back to request a refund (I paid before I saw the rings) the guy said "what about my white gold speed bumps I'd like them back." I couldn't believe it! I said you're lucky I didn't ask for you to pay the amount it cost me to scrape them off my ring and redo everything!!! I can't believe this man calls himself a jeweler! Alex has made me the most beautiful, stunning and well executed pieces of jewelry. He is a gifted and talented jeweler. Sasha is a personal confident and I love our girl talks. Alex designed and created my daughter’s wedding band and brought samples of the diamonds to Manhattan so she could meet him during her lunch hour. When my wonderful mother passed away they helped me tremendously and provided such comfort at a stressful time.
