Matty's Toy Stop — Local services in Town of Hempstead

This past weekend I went to this location with my grandsons to do the Santa wish list walk through. There were 2 women behind the counter who never even lifted their heads to greeted us as we entered the store I did make a small purchase (how can you bring kids to a toy store and not get a little something)and again never an acknowledgment. I did return the following day to get the toys the boys had been looking at only to see the prices, I walked out and again there was not acknowledgment of me being in the store but the women being cashed out was greeted very graciously. Must be a local and a frequent customer. Over the years I have shopped at this local but it was always during the week and never had any issues like this. I do shop at Fun Stuff Toys in Seaford and all the people there are absolutely wonderful. As soon as you enter the store the girl behind the counter greets you. This Matty’s location is definitely off my radar. They also need to do something with their machine that prints receipts. You can barely see what you purchased or the...

I felt out of place when I walked in with my child and wife. As we entered the store, everyone at the counter kept a watchful eye on us; not even a friendly greeting. While waiting in line, a lady ahead of us was greeted with a friendly smile and hello. When it was our turn to check out, we were greeted with a cold shoulder; as if we were criminals. My family and I will not be shopping here anymore. I would have never thought we would ever receive this type of treatment especially in Nassau County Long Island...

Purchased a doll bunk bed for my daughter off of Amazon but made by Matty’s toy stop and was very disappointed. It was pricey for a little 18 inch doll bed but I thought that would mean it would be sturdy and last for years to come...... However, It was Very hard to put together , and the screws are too big so it fell apart immediately. The base of the bed is very flimsy. I always try to buy from smaller businesses to show support but I’m sticking with my fisher price , Mattel etc. I will not be buying...
