Manor Delicatessen — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Walked in 15 minutes before posted closing. Wouldn’t serve me because the bald dude with grey beard wanted to leave early and already cleaned the slicer. I’ve been a regular for years my family lives down the block and are good friends with the original owner. I know standards have falling since he left but this wouldn’t of happened if he was still around. The whole time the bald dude is staring me in the eye as he bags up the rolls and hero’s like “why are you even here, we’re closed” yea in 15 minutes. I own a business and you provide service until posted closing hours, then you clean up….. My server did his best to advocate but the bald dude wasn’t having it, he then offered to serve me what was still out so props to him I appreciated that but still what a turn off. Moved to the area in 2018. Yesterday was the fourth or fifth time I’ve catered from Manor Deli. I ordered some sandwiches, salads and hot food for our block party. The owner, Frank, personally delivered the food—at 5:30pm on a Saturday as requested. He then unpacked and went through the entire order with me to make sure all was well. This place is one of the gems of Long Island. The egg sandwiches and perfectly made whether you are looking for a simple bacon egg and cheese or anything else. Everything is fresh, the people to work there are efficient and more than nice. I can tell you if you feel like they care about food and everything I have had their has been great.
