SIW was highly recommended by a close friend of mine and it has been a great fit for our 2.5-year-old son. Even though English and Spanish is spoken in our household, English is our primary language and we wanted to give our son the opportunity to learn Spanish, as it can sometimes be very easy for kids, nowadays to forget or not practice Spanish as their second language. Our goal is for our son to be fluent in both languages.
We enrolled him in summer camp with the expectation of giving him, his first experience in a Spanish classroom environment, away from home for a couple of hours. My son attends camp 2x a week for the summer.
The first day he walked right in and didn’t even look back. The second day was a bit different, he was aware that he would be away from mommy, so he cried and it made me want to cry as well. The reason I share this is because the teachers were amazing in making my son feel comfortable enough to go in while consoling me as well and letting me know he would be okay. One teacher in particular, Miss Glenda assured me that he was in good hands and later sent me a picture of my son having a great time, to confirm.
I love that we have found a school that will teach our son Spanish. The school makes learning the language fun. They created a Spanish music play list on Spotify, that related to the theme for the summer (which for this year was “a trip to Colombia”).They also incorporated the theme into the arts & crafts portion of the class. In addition, to the music and the learning lessons, my son also has an amazing time with the water activities that the summer camp provides.
In summary, SIW has been a great experience for our son. We wanted to start him off in a school setting slowly so that he could get adjust while learning Spanish. At 2.5 years of age and never being away from mommy or daddy, our goal was also to have our son develop school structure like listening to the teacher, waiting his turn, sharing, etc., which has greatly improved at home as well.
SIW has provided our son with a safe and pleasant Spanish speaking environment; which has made him happy and excited to return to class.
We highly recommend SIW and look forward to continuing our son’s pre-school with SIW in...
Read moreI've been with the SIW family since 2013 and I have so far placed all three of my boys in the preschool program at the starting age of 2. I credit the immersive style curriculum to the educational success my children are now enjoying in elementary school. Two of my boys who are now in Kindergarten and 2nd grade are ahead academically and exhibit no issues socially. Furthermore, due the natural advantages the brain receives from being taught a second language, I credit the organization and the program for helping my children think and process information differently. The advantages that one gains from a young age being exposed to a second language, have led them to test for the gifted program and both have passed with 97 overal percentile and the other in 99 percentile in nonverbal and math section. They now attend schools that can cater to their advanced academic learning and abilities.
It should be noted, that they did not attend any other preschool program and attend from ages 2 - 4. All my children are fluent in English, neither my husband or I speak Spanish at home, so the exposure to the language was solely that of the educators at the program specifically Miss Glenda. And while my children are not fluent in Spanish like a spanish speaker, that would be an unnreasonable expectation given the environment, they are now enjoying being top performers in their Spanish classes in Elementary school due to their exposure in preschool.
I thank the school and its' staff for always being diligent and making an effort towards progress.

Read moreI highly recommend the school for any parent who is serious about their child learning Spanish fluently. The prices are affordable, the staff is friendly and competent, and the Administrator Karina is the best!
When my wife and I enrolled our son (7) two years ago, I signed him up for a class with kids older than him, as I raised him to be bi-lingual from birth and knew he could handle it.
Karina discussed my son’s placement with me in order to make sure he was placed correctly. You see, I am black and it is not common for black American people to speak Spanish fluently. I explained to her that I majored in languages in college, how I raised my son to be bi-lingual (he and I only communicate in Spanish and have never spoken English with each other), and that he could handle the class curriculum.
Karina agreed to allow him entry only after observing him in the class for a session and speaking with him individually. She did and allowed him to remain in the class. He just completed his second year at Spanish Immersion!
Karina wasn’t only interested in the tuition money, but also the benefit to my son. I will never forget the dedication she showed me two years ago.
I highly...
