Blast From The Past — Local services in Town of Islip

I met Rich at the Retro gaming con where I bought a GameCube from him. Him and his associate were super friendly and helpful and with their 30 day warranty I felt confident buying a used older system and games from them. Then I found out they also buy a huge variety of collectibles and since I didn’t have the time and patience to sell them online, I was happy to hear I can sell them in one shot at their store. Rich was so accommodating, honest and personable in discussing the pricing he can offer and I felt like I could trust him and he was very fair with his offer! He was patient, answered questions, and explained how he determined the pricing. Didn’t feel pressured or rushed or taken advantage of as a lot of stores or merchants can make you feel! I truly missed the experiences of my childhood having the excitement of going to stores and looking at all the cool stuff they had in a world where so much is online. I missed the connections to the people that have a love for the same things and the hunt for that awesome find or thing that takes you back to happy childhood memories. The store is awesome and has such a huge variety of collectibles, movies, games, and more. It’s super organized and clean too! They keep getting new things and changing it up unlike many stores that you see the same things you saw last time! It was such a great experience and fun time! There’s really nothing quite like it on Long Island, or probably even further out. Thanks for a great deal, helping me make some more space at home and knowing these collectibles will help support local business and go to homes that will appreciate them! Before I start, I would like to say that I haven't been paid or compensated in any form in order to make my review. For a couple a months I have seen the post from this store, I am a retro guy that loves vinyl, toys, video games and electronics in general, but been 1 hour plus away from me, I decided to hold my visit......that was till yesterday , My wife and I decided to shop around at the mall and right after take a trip finally and see what goodies I could find , Sunday night and 2 minutes before closing time , I made the call to the store asking to hold for me if it was not an inconvenience....the answer was: by no means it is an inconvenience!! Just drive on and will wait for you, I got there exactly at closing time and I was welcomed with a smile and been told to take my time with no rush. Small store but very well organized and full of retro dreams in perfect conditions!! The owner ...a down to earth guy extremely helpful and joyful to have us there , I originally need it to shop for one of my friends Christmas present but I ended shopping for me and my wife too....everyone in the store are very friendly and I was treated like a friend and not a costumer, I would definitely return with more time ( you need it in order to search ) Blast from the past is my store for shopping, we need more stores like this, once again I'm just a happy client who hasn't been paid for this review......from 1 to 10 I give it a 100!!...

Before I share I'm gonna say I used to love this store when it first opened down the block from the new location. They now have guys working there that seem line their on probation or something very creepy and do t wanna do any customer service whatsoever. I called up before I came must have been the owner on the phone because he sounded normal was helpful and told me had plenty of PS4 charge cables in stock. I show up after work guy behind counter looks like he was let out of a crack house I ask him for the cable he tried to say he didn't have any. I said what's that behind you. There was numerous ones he doesn't apologize just says Ohhhh. Trued to not give me receipt. Told ne I had 30 days to return period no other rules. Get ho e find out it's my controller that's bad. The cable BTW was 16 bucks for a 3rd party product. I go to Gamestop get new controller try to charge it wit blasts charge cable it doesn't work. Go back to games top by a cable from them meant for PS4 only 10 bucks it works beautifully. I go back to Blast in the morning Same guy doesn't wanna work gives 3rd degree why I'm returning his shifty cable then didn't want to give my money back store credit. I said you have nothing I ever wanna buy from your store I convinced him to refund the money. I wouldn't shop here it's like going to a prison commissary to buy cigarettes. They...
