We went to Local Burger Co. after the Bay Shore Saint Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday March 10th, 2018. Just like most of the people attending the parade, we had been drinking all day and were looking for someplace to go for dinner around 6pm. Because we've been to Salt & Barrel, Changing Times and Coastal, and were looking for something casual that we haven't tried, we decided on Local Burger Co. Due to the parade and the crowd, they had a hostess and a bouncer set up outside at the front entrance. We had to put our name in and wait... OUTSIDE... in the freezing, windy, cold for close to 30 minutes for a table. Granted, we were outside for most of the day, but that was while the sun was out and it wasn't that bad. Once the sun went down, the wind picked up, the temperature dropped and it was freezing out there. We definitely weren't happy about having to wait outside! Once we were allowed in, we were brought to a little two-seater right under a cutout that looks directly into the kitchen. What I witnessed should've immediately made me turn around and walk out. Again, I will state that I understand that it must've been a crazy day for anyone working at a restaurant on Main Street in Bay Shore after the parade. Being a chef, I've worked those shifts and I know how crazy things can get in a kitchen. So I will overlook the fact that the kitchen was a disaster. The floors were a mess and the counters were a mess and it looked like things hadn't been wiped down since the place opened. And I was actually ok with that. What disgusted me was the 5 cooks working the line that didn't have gloves on and were building burgers with their bare hands. And on top of that, on the other side of the expo line were a bunch of servers eating like they were at a buffet. And I didn't notice this just once, when I got up to go to the bathroom, when I got back from the bathroom and when we were getting up to leave, I witnessed the same thing every time I looked in the kitchen. This really bothered me but since we waited outside for so long, were frozen and starving, I made the judgement call to stay and eat. Thinking back on it now, I must've been pretty drunk to stay after witnessing what I did. For our meals, Lahna ordered a bacon cheeseburger no bun, I ordered the Hangover and we shared an order of the Celtic fries. For being manhandled with no gloves, our food was pretty good. The celtic fries could've used more corned beef though. And the egg on my burger was way over fried when I was hoping that it would come out runny. As far as the service, our waitress hardly came around. She was either busy waiting on other tables, waiting at the bar for drinks, or in the kitchen, probably eating her shift meal with the rest of the servers in the middle of their shift right in the open kitchen for everyone to see. Sorry Local, anyone with a frying pan can make a thin patty burger and put it on a Martin's potato bun and not risk catching a foodborne illness.

Great burgers for amazing prices, I've been here about 5 times and this is the best local place foe burgers. This time i had the Atomic burger and my fiance had the Blue Ribbon burger. The Blue Ribbon was creamy, salty and delicious, the few bites i had left me wanting more. The Atomic burger at first didnt really seem spicy to me ( i love spicy food ) but by time i finished half of it i found myself searching frantically for my organic G&T. The atmosphere is relaxed and rustic, the music was perfect for us, a mix of 90's muisc for me and Ed sheran and Bruno mars for her. Our server was awesome, i dont remember his name but he was helpful and really funny and made our daughter laugh alot. If you're in the mood for a burger and want something that will taste good AND leave you coming back for more, this is the place for you. This is now our burger place.

So many burgers to choose from. Many other options from hot dogs to chicken. Love that the products are mostly made on long Island. The shakes are filling and amazing. The loaded fries are a meal on their own. So good. The Brussel sprouts are amazing. The back seating is nice relaxed atmosphere Go with a huge appetite. Plenty of beer to choose from specially local brews. If you are in need of a thick shake they have amazing Thich shakes, my favorite is the chocolate. Ask if Anthony is there and have him make them. Soooo perfectly made. The hangover burger is so good hits the spot. Everyone there is friendly and helpful. Love eating there. As always a safe spot for me to eat. No seafood. Love it. Nonepi pen needed for me.

My boyfriend and I chose to eat at the restaurant bar for dinner. The place had a very good crowd for the first few nights being opened. We admired the decor and the personal touches that went into the place. The bartender had a bad attitude from the beginning. She was young and inexperienced. I ordered a sangria and was given an attitude by the bartender when I expressed I didnt care for it. I had decided to replace my drink with a red wine but given a glass with a very small pour, still having the sangria left front of me for most of my dinner experience. Burgers were ordered but mixed up and delivered to the wrong people. When burger came was not informed in having to order a side of anything whether it be fries or apps or sidesalad. Was given a burger in a wrapper alone on a rectangular metal platter. Most of the staff seemed very accommodating and pleasant other then the girl bartender and " general manager" that tried her best to handle the simple situation if not being charged for the things that were not order. My terrible sangria was still...

Just received a chili burger in a box that looks like a Chinese food container I guess that’s how they do Togo items for door dash. If that is the case please stop doing this. I paid $25.00 of my hard earned money with door dash and when I opened the paper box instead of seeing a burger with chili all I saw was chili and that’s it The bun was submerged under chili. The raw onion and tomatoes I requested was basically stewed & cooked in the hot chili and the tomatoes was all wilted. yet I cannot even see the burger, it just looks like a box of chili I wish I could upload an image of what I am looking at here. Displeasing to the eyes. Right now I am eating with a fork and knife while all my coworkers are laughing at me telling me I got screwed out of $25.00.

Thanks a lot local burger.

Ps the fiddy fiddy were freezing cold. You are not to far away from my job I order food from further away and received better quality control and presentation.

Must be an off day there probably have an 18 year old managing the place...
