If I could give it less than a one star I most definitely would. When entering this Tops on Transit Rd Next to Denny’s, I was Extremely Disappointed in the Quality of the food being sold there. I am someone who would like at least decent produce so my family and I don’t get sick. The Produce for sale was soggy, badly bruised, there were multiple bugs flying around everything. There were mushy fruit piles with wet paper and whatever else was laying around that they could use to put vegetables and fruit on. It smelled super sour. I was disgusted. I bought 5 ears of corn on the cob that was wrapped in plastic wrap and what I thought was coated in butter, since the unwrapped corn on the cob that still needing shucking was soaked and sour smelling, I get home and go to cook the corn on the cob that I just bought the night before and it’s NOT coated in Butter!!! It’s Actually a slimy sour film that smelled like mop water and trash cans that was covering the entire inside of the package with the corn on the cob included!!! I immediately threw it in the trash! There were literally 2 shelves to each Aisle filled with food, every thing else was just broken shelves metal pieces to the shelves everywhere, the floors were sticky and disgusting, there was random food sitting open next to closed food. All the breads were old, They were out of almost everything, and the things they advertised were old and rotten. It ruined my entire experience with this place and therefore I will never ever go to TOPS FRIENDLY MARKET EVER AGAIN!!! I had one employee tell me to have a nice day! Read moreEvery time I go to this tops it’s always because it’s my last option, it is extremely uncomfortable as a black person to go shopping in this store because you feel like you’re every move is being watched and they make you feel like you’re doing something wrong. Just the other day I was at the self checkout scanning my items and a random employee comes over to me and starts touching my stuff and watching me check out even tho I only had like 3 things, she didn’t even say a word to me just stood there watched me like a hawk with a mean look on her face. On another occasion my boyfriend and I came to this tops to buy our baby her formula, I initially asked for 11 cans on formula but one of the employee advised me that they can only sell me six at a time and she said it would be fine if I did 2 transactions so then I asked her for six cans , she walked away and went into a room so we assumed she was going to get the formula for us but then she come out of the room with nothing and walks right past us so then we asked someone else for the 6 cans of formula, she walks away and comes back after about 10 minutes with only 2 cans in her hand and then tells us we are only allowed to buy 2 cans a day and that we can not do multiple transactions, so instead of arguing with these people we decided to just go to Walmart. Placed a cake order 3 days in advance with a guy named Maverick. Had to choose a basic cake because he said he couldn't find the "kits" for the "theme" birthday cakes. Whatever. So we proceeded to choose the options for 2 basic cakes to be ready for pickup Saturday at 11am. When we arrived for pickup, we were told they have no cake order, and insisted we must have ordered it at a different location. NO! It was ordered here, at this location, with THAT GUY STANDING RIGHT THERE, NAMED MAVERICK!! He obviously never put in the order forms, and now my boys will have no cake for their party today. No apology, no customer service, no solutions offered. NOTHING. Maverick and 2 other bakery employees stood there, arms folded with little to say about the whole thing. I guess your mistake is now my problem to solve. Thank you Tops for letting my family down and ruining my kids birthday.
