Went yesterday for early Father's day with our daughter - 7pm reservation. She raved about the one on Transit but this is closer to us so we were looking forward to it. If they are related, then Transit should send staff here to train them. They brought the cute chips and salsa and we asked for queso and did our drink order. Queso came out cold, lumpy, and thick. Asked for it to be warmed up, came out again barely warm and still lumpy/thick. The place is kind of cute, looked clean, colorful decor, but feels more like a fast food place than a full restaurant. Dad and daughter drinks arrived, were very were good but I had asked if they had Gin. Server said yes so ordered double gin and tonic. Got Jim Beam and ginger ale! Nice guy but not sure he speaks much English. Seemed very confused when trying to work out the drink so gave up on that $18.50 mistake. Asked again for Queso to be heated up to hot and ordered dinner. Queso came back again still cold, don't think they did anything to it so $6 down the drain and gave up on that. Waiting on meal, and they were not busy. Noticed the majority of the staff just sitting around on the bench by the door, playing on phones or chatting and staring at customers like they were talking about them. Food arrives and varies from cold rice to luke warm entrees, yet the plates were hot. Seems like a mix of some things they make and other stuff pre-prepared and likely mass produced frozen. The menu has a lot of choices which again may indicate much of it is pre-prep frozen. We asked for a monkey of sour cream. $2! Food ranged from edible to tasty so there is a consistency issue here. Few staff are super nice and others just don't seem to care and can even make you uncomfortable. Get bill and it's $108 with drinks and nothing adjusted for queso or wrong drink issue. At today's prices not super bad but did not feel worth the experience. We like to tip in cash, and they did not have any to break a $20 without someone going into the office and that took 10 minutes. Yes we only tipped $10 as the whole thing was not entirely the servers fault. Overall a lackluster experience and we have no intention of ever going to this location again. Would have been better to...
Read moreOrdered doordash from here after a particularly trying day for us. Its a mixed bag- the mole poblano con pollo were on friggin point. The tamales- perfect; moist and flavorful without being crumbly or meat-lacking. You can tell the limes were cut fresh and not leftover whatever old ones. And the quesobirria were pretty and tasty. However, we got some random small flour tortillas and im not sure why i was wondering if maybe it was an off day- or got mixed w another order? The "loaded" churros for 14 dollars were 4 small, plain and sad pieces. No cream, sprinkles or drizzle as advertised & pictured. The packaging suuuuuucked. The flimsiest plastic bags I've literally ever seen were overloaded and piled so that the tops of the entrées were caved in, and went sideways. Heaviest usually go on the bottom... Ofc the dasher could've just stunk at his only job, however a lot of places put cut cardboard pieces out of the boxes they'd get rid of anyway in between entrées for stability. Or double up particularly heavy bags? Even just distribute the bags evenly, so that 3 heavy entrées werent all in 1 bag and small sides and chips in the other. Idk seems like common sense but hey, its 2025 and it aint common anymore. The last straw after peeling the soggy plastic bag away and licking half the sauces off the entrée lids (seriously- it was a DAY) was my fav -the 6 dollar appetizer size order of queso blanco, which came not in a medium round plastic container as shown, but a small (pic- fork for scale) ramekin the same size as the salsa, birria salsa, y limes. It was a flop, and we will be sticking to our go-to place, La Divina, instead. Especially for that price, yikes. I've worked in restaraunts and I'm fully aware late night orders are like nails on a chalkboard. I ordered at quarter after 8. A bit early for the kitchen to be mentally clocked out... and way to expensive to be hurting like THAT, stale corn chips and all. It kindof stings cuz we moved into the 14225 earlier this year, and have been let down w food in the area more...
Read moreFood was GREAT. Service/Timing needs a little improvement (minor tweaks) The staff was friendly and we got seated right away. We got given some chips and salsa while we looked at the menu. When the waitress came, we ordered our drinks and an appetizer (Queso Fundido). Our waitress brought our drinks and we placed our dinner order. We munched on the Salsa and chips, but very quickly ran out of salsa and low on chips. We requested more Salsa, which was brought. And then our appetizer was brought out- but we had no chips left, so we had to request more instead of our server noticing we were low and asking if we needed more or offereing more with the Queso dip. Our appetizer came with some soft flour tortillas, but it was hard to "scoop" the queso with those... As we had JUST started our appetizer, our meals were brought out- and while we were pleased with the quickness- but then felt "rushed" because we wanted to eat our dinners while they were hot, but also our appetizer as well. Just a little more time would be nice in between courses. I had the Baha Tacos with the Tilapia (choice of shrimp or fried tilapia) and my friend had the Bandito Burrito?? (a selection of 3 different burritos) Food was excellent and I will definitely be back again- just would hope for a bit more time in between course- I like to be able to enjoy my appetizer before my meal and not eat it along with my meal. Also- as tacos are messy, extra napkins on the table or given would be great! :-) Welcome to Town! Always great to have another Mexican...
