Service is not accurate. Have been there multiple times throughout the years— asked for help from the manager and still get the wrong item. Does not seem that many in the store have any broad knowledge of basic construction principles. This is supported by the fact that NO ONE ever approaches you to offer help. They all stand in the corner manager’s area and chit chat about nothing related to work— even while there are many customers in the store. Very unprofessional. Sadly, you are better off going to “big box” construction stores or you’ll be driving back and forth all day to get the right materials.
When I went back in for a third time, the manager returned the incorrect items and gave us re drill bits for free. But, when we got home— guess what?? They were wrong— again. Despite my husband giving them a model number of the driver we were using to ensure it would be correct the third time around. Oh— and I forgot to mention that after the second wrong item was given we faultily trusted the “help” we got and ended up with a wrong size hole in the foundation of our house. Can we say “oops” Valu? Can I say PLEASE go to ale a construction course at ECC.
Save yourself some time and headache and go elsewhere or use trusty Amazon.
I feel sad to write this because I try and support small local businesses— but this is...
Read moreGreat place to shop if you want to be PROFILED by a manager and insinuated of being a thief as soon as you grab a shopping cart.
I walk over 2 miles/45-50 minutes to buy a few paints that I need to finish a project. After entering the door and grabbing a shopping cart, I'm instructed by a manager to remove my bookbag.
Mind you, I walk. I dont have a car to keep my personal belonging in. I keep my personal belongings in my bookbag. I never leave home without it.
Yet, in my experience, I see women carry purses (some of which could be matched to the size of my bookbag) walking around the store. Why can women keep their belongings but I'm requested to surrender my own?
I have no idea of who is watching my property, if anyone, or what thier character is like. But for the privalige of shopping at Valu Home Centers, be prepared to get profiled
I especially enjoyed all the EXTRA help I got today when most of the time a customer can't find a clerk to ask. Having a random associate who barely could engage or answer questions stand behind me while i was trying to make decisions really didnt help my shopping experience.
Maybe hire some better staff that dont assume the worst of...
Read moreI've been going to Value for decades for just about anything a DIY could use. I've never bought a snow shovel from Value up until this past Blizzard (2022). They had 2 different models left to choose from; $14.99 & $17.99. Of coarse I chose the more expensive one; as I grabbed it off the shelf and pressed it to the ground, I though it was pretty flimsy. The associate from Value seen what I had done & told me that if it breaks, bring it back for a full refund. The reason I'm writing this review is because that shovel not only dug my SUV out of the Blizzard, but I also borrowed it to some other tenants to use to dig themselves out & that shovel is still as good as the day I bought it. Thanks again Value for selling a well made product....
