Dealing with Mohawk Chevrolet has been nothing short of a nightmare. We brought in our Z21 Tahoe because it wouldn’t reverse. We were told the part we needed was common issue with Tahoes and Silverados and it was on backorder. We were initially told it would be about 4 to 6 weeks, but they weren’t sure. We asked if they had any loaner/courtesy cars and they told us all 13 were all out being used. After three weeks, we asked again if there could be a loaner available and they said that they prioritize customers with GM warranties over other warranties. Since we have an Allstate warranty, we were lower on the priority list than other customers. We were told we were put at the top of the list for the part and once they got the part, in even though it’s normally a 3.5 hour job, they’ve gotten so good at doing these that it should only take two hours and we would have it the same day. After two months, we still didn’t have our car back. We were then passed to the service manager, who told us that they don’t do loaner cars at all, and that they definitely do not prioritize certain warranties over others. We heard from a fellow customer who was waiting for the same part with them for their Silverado that they had a friend who purchased a Silverado through them recently. The friend was told that they had to wait three weeks to pick it up because they needed this part that both him and I were missing and waiting for. To me, this shows that they were getting the parts, but they were prioritizing the new sales over the customers who are waiting for their current cars to be fixed. We then started to toss around the idea of purchasing a car and trading in the Tahoe. After three months of our car being in Mohawk Chevrolet lot, we figured we would just sell and save the money for purchasing a new car when we found one that we liked. We went in to sign the paperwork and we felt uneasy about it. They were supposed to have a check on hand and we were supposed to just sign and leave. We were then told that they couldn’t give us a check of that size because the general manager was supposed to be there that day to authorize it and was not. They then offered us an extra $1000 if we trade it in and bought a car with them. Since we weren’t going to get a check that day we decided to leave. We had brought the title to make it an easy transaction. We were going to come back on Monday so we left it with them so that we could just sign the paperwork and be done once the GM was in office. Apparently the part came in a couple days later, but nobody notified us. It took them a week to tell us the part came in. My thinking is that they were hoping they could get the car from us rather than have it fixed. We were told Monday, August 18 that they got the part in. It took until Wednesday, August 20 for the car to be fixed. When they called to tell us, suddenly now our battery is bad because it was the one that came with it originally. No mention of this prior, nor have I gotten any indications on my car that the battery was not good. We talked to the sales guy who we were dealing with and told him we weren’t going to sell, so if he could just put the title in the glove compartment so it will be ready when we picked it up. He then told us that we had already signed the paperwork and that we had to go through with the sale. We reminded him that we absolutely did not sign the paperwork. He put us on hold to check, then came back and said oh you’re right, the paperwork wasn’t completed. We requested again that he put the title in the glove compartment. We told them in three subsequent phone calls to make sure that the title was in the car when we were to pick it up. At pick up on Friday, August 22 they now can’t find the title. After they found it, we were finally able to take our car home. I will never do any business with Mohawk...
Read moreThis was my first experience getting a new vehicle and I'm pretty dissapointed with how it all went. I met with Nahissah who admitted to being on the floor only a couple of weeks. He was friendly but also clearly annoyed and fake at times. My fiancé and I met with Danielle and George, who both seemed great, like they were on top of things. I provided all my personal and financial information, including paystubs from my job. We test drove a vehicle that we loved but didn't fit our price range so the following day we were shown a different vehicle that fit within our budget. I brought my previous vehicle with me to trade-in as well. We were 'already approved' but never given the option to test drive the vehicle, only given a tour of the vehicle itself and then told to give my information to onstar for setup. We proceeded back inside the dealership where we switched over insurance information. This part was off putting, like they had already closed the deal and stopped caring. The final step was with the finance manager George; I sat down and signed all the contractual agreements to lease a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. After completing all of the paperwork and putting down a $4000 deposit I was given my paperwork and keys. The sale was completed on 7/30 around 8:30pm. My fiancé was present when our old vehicle (Jeep) was picked up by a wholesaler. I immediately received calls and messages asking me how I liked the vehicle. On 8/5 I received a voicemail mentioning a survey that I would be receiving and mentioning how anything that's not a 10/10 would hurt the dealership. At the same time I was getting calls from my previous car loan (Capital One) stating that my payment was late and my balance still remained. After calling and looking into it, they said that the dealership had scheduled a payment for 8/11 then moved it to 8/12 and again moved to 8/15. Capital One told me that I am still listed as the responsible party and then I watched my credit score drop from an increased balance from a late payment since they had not followed through.
The following day 8/6 I received a call stating that they need to further verify my income and requested personal bank statements. I was told that my income was flagged as fraud and that GM financial had 'kicked it back' a week later.
We were originally referred to Mohawk Chevrolet from one of our business partners who had just leased a truck 2 weeks prior to our original appointment. When I went in on 7/30 to finalize my lease I had also brought in another person who walked out that evening with a brand new leased vehicle. Neither of the people I know had experienced any further questioning or backtracking after the purchase was completed and contracts were signed.
I provided further information and waited til the next day to hear back to be told that this needs to be resolved by the next day or they would have to take the truck back.
They had already sold my trade-in so I didn't really have a choice in the matter at this point. I ended up having someone cosign for the vehicle. Katie wasn't exactly pleasant during the process.
I don't understand how someone can be approved, given contracts and keys to be unapproved a week later. Whether it was GM financial or Mohawk Chevrolet, I'm not at all happy with how this experience transpired. My first purchase of a new vehicle and it was anything but the exciting positive experience I thought...
Read moreI would not recommend Mohawk Chevrolet. My fiance and I went to lease a vehicle, we met with Nahissah who was nice at the beginning but after a bit I noticed he was talking to us like we were dumb. He brought one vehicle for us to see and test drive which was a 2025 silverado ltz 1500, very nice truck but thats not what we where going to get and thats the bait and switch BS dealers play. They want to push their 2.7lt 2fl silverados because chevy pays them basically a bounty on every one that was sold in July. The next day we are told that the bank would only approve us of the 2fl truck, we were desperate to get a new vehicle so we scheduled to go in and look at it instead they have us do all the paperwork to lease the truck instead of letting us look at first. Very pushy especially when they knew we where in desperate need af a new vehicle. We dealt with 3 different mangers, one of them was very nice George good guy but definitely the one that tows the line. After finally getting our new truck we were very excited to have a new safe vehicle. Didn't think there was an anxiety filled nightmare around the corner but My fiance started getting calls that she was late on her car payment because the dealership had not paid off our trade in vehicle which put a nice 18 point ding on her credit. Then the real nightmare started when the bank didn't fund the loan on the lease, saying the proof of employment and salary was fraudulent. My fiance works me and I supplied pay stubs and a letter of employment which was originally approved. We went back and forth for about a week and finally got notice from the bank that they would not approve it anymore. Mohawk had already sold our trade in and it was either bring the truck back and then owe Mohawk money on their mistake or put another 20k down. I tried figuring out the situation and spoke to Katie which started off nice then was not at all, she knows fianace but not how business works she her self turned the whole thing into a battle which I welcomed I know what rights we have and also know if need be they would be crushed in a court battle. We didn't get that far thankfully my fiance and I were able to figure out a solution and get everything fixed and we are free and clear of the dealerships nightmare of mistakes. They kept blaming it on GM financial but I wasn't dealing with them from the start so I do hold Mohawk Chevrolet responsible. The employees of Mohawk Chevrolet are nice but it's all fake they dont care about you they only care about how they can screw you over. I will never recommend this dealer to anyone. It's ironic that the day we came in to get our vehicle we had already brought someone with us as a recommendation so they made another deal off of that. I hate the fact we have to go back there at all, I can say with certainty I won't be very nice to fake people who brought nothing but stress from what was supposed to be an exciting experience for my fiancé getting her first...
