We checked in today and were initially pleased to learn that the hotel does not allow pets, except for service animals. We were assigned Room 409 on the top floor. While the room appeared clean, it had a strong, unusual odor that made me uncomfortable. As someone with environmental allergies—including sensitivities to dust, dust mites, pet dander, mold, and certain trees (oak and cypress)—I react strongly to musty or unfamiliar smells. Shortly after entering, my eyes and chest began to feel heavy and tight. I called the front desk to report the issue. The staff was courteous and offered to move us to Room 103. Unfortunately, this room had a similar odor and did not improve my symptoms. I didn’t inspect the room beforehand, as I normally do, trusting that the hotel’s pet policy would help reduce potential allergens. The night before, we stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Utica, where the room had a fresh, clean scent and felt much more comfortable. Rather than requesting another room again, I took a Zyrtec, hoping it would ease my symptoms and help me rest. We were considering staying for two nights, but I asked my partner to wait until tomorrow before deciding. Given how I feel now, we’ve decided to check out tomorrow. Moving forward, I’ll go back to my usual practice of inspecting rooms first, even in pet-free hotels. I’ve also realized that I may need to prioritize hotels with hardwood or laminate flooring instead of carpeting and be cautious with older buildings, even if recently renovated. My sensitivities are unique, but I can usually tell right away when an environment isn’t suitable, as it quickly affects my overall well-being. Maria L.

Not many options for their breakfast in terms of hot. Just toast, scrambled eggs and sausage. Also you can’t choose the amount egg or sausages you want as they give it to you in a to go box. Not many options of fruit other than a mandarin or banana. Not as kid friendly as reviewers say at the moment. They have exposed fiberglass insulation that’s extremely accessible to children and people in general. It’s on the wall in front of the elevator so while people wait they lean on it or kids touch it. I went with a child and he touched it thinking it was a soft pillow on the wall. The construction area is also easily accessible to children. Lastly even tho no pets are allowed someone brought a huge dog to the room next to ours. The dog barked (LOUDLY) late at night and early in the morning. Staff didn’t do anything about it. Other than they staff was friendly enough.

The staff was amazing- kind and aware but unobtrusive. Room was very clean, and the cleaning service waited until the afternoon to come so we could sleep in even though we forgot the door sign. Heat is room controlled which was nice, since it was in the negatives when we stayed. There was a small fitness center and pool and hot tub. But the in room tub was very large, good for baths if that’s your thing. Free breakfast was served both days of our stay with something for everyone. I would come back again!

We booked a 2 nights stay, one-bedroom/junior suite with a small living area with all the basic amenities, extra bathroom products & well stocked with towels, and, sanitizing wipes for our use. Check-in was quick, friendly & helpful with intro overview of hotel services, hours for complimentary breakfast and asked whether we wish to request or skip daily housekeeping services, done with a cheerful smile. Public area is well maintained, well lighted, clean & hand sanitizers strategically located in high traffic area. Having an extra 55" HDTV (LG brand) was good but not needed with 2 of us, very practical for those traveling as a family with children. Walk-in shower was roomy with hand rails/grab bars for safety, and like the entire bathroom - excellent lightings. Ample free parking for hotel guests, finding the entrance off the highway (I-87 Northway) can be a bit tricky but thankfully, GPS navigation meant we didn't get lost - there are local stores & restaurants nearby in the area if staying multiple nights. Bed & mattress was comfortable but could use an extra (compact) night stand with electrical / USB charging outlets bedside with most travelers got multiple gadgets & unlike us, not always carrying extra adapters & power strip/cube. LG TV's aren't upgraded yet for built-in media apps but thankfully, able to connect my own cast/streaming stick and complimentary WiFi was free & good enough for basic connections.

Hotel is off the highway and with windows closed, could faintly hear truck/bus travel overnight with blackout curtains drawn closed from our top/4th floor suite facing in that direction. We recommend this for other travelers and if/when we return next Fall to see foliage or planning a stay in the area, most definitely will consider & return to stay at this property. Kudo & thanks to all the hard work team members including housekeeping staff as we see...

We see decent reviews here. I read the review before booking. Unfortunately this was not my experience we stayed around the 16th of september. When I walked into my room it didn’t have a “just cleaned” smell like most of my rooms did. I am not picky though I ignored this. Until I went to go shower and notice a ton of red hair on the mounted bottles of soap for all guest to share while showering To their credit they did give indivually wrapped soaps. But ny issue wasn’t the type of soap..it was if the shower had been properly cleaned. Then I finally go to lay down and pull back the covers. I notice the same red hair in the bed. I have my husband call the front desk...they say they will be up to take a look. No one ever comes to my room. So I take out some cleaning products and gloves and began cleaning everything myself. I always bring a extra sheet to my room just in case things like this happen myself. But I am now worried because I had already sat down on the bed. Due to cleanliness issues...I truly felt uncomfortable most of my stay. I was annoyed after paying 400.00 just to come in and clean up after a total stranger. But nonetheless I was going to move on...until I ended up with a stall infection. I do know germs can happen anywhere but as for me I never had a staph infection my whole life. We also know that these type of infections spread via skin contact. So, if I am laying in somone else skin bacteria...or getting germs due to lack of cleanliness, the probability of infection increases significantly. I truly wish I would have just stayed home. It’s so important at this time for hotels to take extra caution with cleaning...no one wants to risk themselves just to stay in a expensive room that will get them sick. I am very happy others had great experiences...sad,y for me, mines wasn’t...

If for any reason you go to Saratoga springs New York stay at this hotel everything there is awesome. From the food to the staff and the room everything is just amazing. From business to pleasure this hotel will take care of any and everything you need. You want snacks they got it you want soft drinks they got it. They even make fresh cookies everyday...what.. that's right fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.. every... single... day... You want extra blankets and towels they bring them straight to you and don't even get me started on the fresh coffee everyday. It gets better.. that's impossible you might say just wait... Let's say your hungry... everyone gets hungry... but don't want to go out and deal with a restruant. You just run across the street and grab you a nice steak and cook it on there own complimenty Propane Grill.. that's right Propane Grill big enough to make family or groups endless amounts of food. Nothing would make Hank Hill prouder then to know this Fairfield supports good old Propane! This place is LEDGEN....... wait for it...... DAIRY... LEGENDARY... As soon as you walk into those sliding glass doors the feeling of how amazing this hotel just overwhelms you instantly and you have to just go get in there perfect hot tub to calm your nerves from all the excitement. Then if you want a nice peaceful night just go out to the back patio and chill in the nice outside furniture and have a nice cold beer. This is by far the best hotel you will ever stay at. So if you want to go to upstate New York just south of the Adirondacks this is the place for you. This is a place fit for a queen... that's right Queen Elizabeth herself couldn't ask for a better place. I personally guarantee when she comes to the the great USA she personally asks to stay at the Fairfield inn and suites...
