Unfortunately, I feel it is my responsibility to share the experience I had during my wedding ceremony at Saint Augustine's Church. I am simply going to state the facts, to hopefully prevent this happening to the next couple getting married at this church.
Even though our rehearsal date was set almost a year prior to the wedding, and confirmed twice, Monsignor Kelly was not there the night of rehearsal, nor was anyone aware of us coming that night. Luckily, Anne was still there to unlock the church and to somewhat guide us through the steps of Rehearsal. When we called and spoke to Monsignor the day after he showed no concern or care, he just confirmed the day and time of the wedding and told us how much we owed.

It is unfortunate that you had these disappointments! Our Pastor’s day off each week is Friday, and therefore an associate priest, deacon or our rectory manager are in charge of rehearsals; thus, she was there that night to guide you through the ceremony. And although we normally do not have someone assisting the bridal party in the back of the church, a broken door hook was certainly not helpful to your entrance on your wedding day. We apologize and it will be fixed. We only hope that somehow this will eventually become a not-so-awkward part of your ‘wedding day story’ that is passed on! from Lu Doyle, Director of Adult Faith Formation at...
