I went to purchase my groceries. I attempted to use my EGift-Card that was given to me as a gift from a family member. I presented the card information (number, pin, barcode) to the cashier. The cashier had no idea what to do so she calls her manager over.
Here comes Pauletta Bowman, I explain to her that I am trying to use my gift card and she says to me “we don’t accept that here.” I didn’t quite understand what she meant so I asked for clarity. She said the card isn’t valid. As I continued to show her the details of the card on my phone she told me to call corporate and walked away.
I couldn’t believe what had just happened. So I called corporate to find out they are closed on the weekends. I did my own research on the spot and came across all the detailed information regarding E-gift Cards on the Stop & Shop website. Everything on the website pointed to there being no limitations on how the card can be used. After waiting 10 minutes for the manager to come back over to assist me, I explained to her the facts that are stated on the website. She still told me the card was not valid and it cannot be used in this store’s location.
I wound up having to pay with my own money and not using the gift card because I was forced into that situation. I have never in my life met someone whose only agenda was to put others down. I will be contacting corporate and driving the extra 5 minutes to go to ShopRite. The worst case of customer “care” I’ve ever...
Read moreThe store is normally stocked and the hours are ideal. However, I have had two encounters with the most rude cashier named Roeanne or Joeanne and she has me considering never shopping in the store and recommending the same to my family and friends. You can’t throw someone’s groceries in the bag with complete disregard for their food. It’s almost like she is angry about having a job, but if customers stop shopping in the store that’s a bigger problem. Management needs to send her back for customer service training and remind her the line of business she is working in whether by choice or force. Customer experience is everything!! I will drive to Chester to shop the store is just as nice but the service far exceeds the service...
Read moreI drive approx. 40 mins to go to this Stop n' Shop location in each direction solely because it has a British foods section. I almost never had any problems until tonight. I asked for help from an employee named Vicky who was busy texting on her phone. Meanwhile there were no reps. in Self Check-out. A product rang-up incorrectly. She was annoyed to have to get off her phone so she snatched my debit card out of the machine. I showed her the item's cost and she claimed it was only for three of the items, so I chose one of them instead. The item still ran-up wrong. Vicky then gave me attitide when I asked for it to be corrected. Then we got in an atgument because I felt mistreated since she mad to assist. - Completely...
