I have been a frequent customer for over 15 years now. I always wait my turn in line even if I called ahead for my order; I think it’s rude to skip the line. Today I sat in line which went outside of the shop for about 10 minutes causing me to be late to my engagement that I was going to…which I didn’t mind because I wanted a bagel. As I make my way into the shop, someone walks in behind me and sits at a table. The girl working says “hi” to him from the other side of the room and he says “hi” and shouts “blueberry!”, she nods her head and spends 5 minutes preparing his bagel and coffee…making me 5 minutes later. I didn’t have time to spare, obviously this man who came in to sit has all the time in the world with his newspaper. So while I’m standing at the door still, the man who walked in after me and didn’t wait in line, got his breakfast within 5 minutes. The phone was ringing over and over and no one was picking it up because it was too busy, but it wasn’t too busy for this man to get served right away. I don’t care how loyal of a customer you are, that’s not fair to your other customers. The girl working should’ve looked at who was last in line and when the line was cleared up until that point, then help him with his order. This was horrible customer service…next time I know to sit down and just shout my order to be served ahead of all the other customers…great...
Read moreOpened my BEC on everything bagel sandwich to find a long brown hair cooked into the sandwich and sticking out of the bagel. I honestly don’t understand how the person preparing it didn’t see that before, or while, wrapping it up. When I went back in to ask them to remake my sandwich the replacement sandwich I got was the most pitiful excuse for a BEC I have ever had. The bacon was barely cooked, there was only one egg on the entire sandwich and I couldn’t see or taste any cheese on there so I think they forgot the cheese entirely. I didn’t even eat the second half of the sandwich and I only ate the first half because I was starving. I wish I could say that this is the first or only time I’ve had a bad experience here but I would never leave a bad review over one bad experience. I’ve been a loyal customer of Bagel World for years and it’s so sad to watch it go rapidly downhill over the past two years. I understand that the past year has been difficult on businesses and especially food service but their issues started long before Covid. Between terrible customer service, raising prices to the point of absurdity and declining quality of food I’m watching what used to be my go-to bagel joint run itself into the ground. Read moreRecently moved back to the area after living in NYC for a number of years. We were looking for some bagels and tried out Bagel World. Ordered two bacon egg and cheese on everything bagels, one blueberry honey cream cheese on pumpernickel, and one normal cream cheese on everything bagel.
First reaction to the bagels was weird. They are very soft and fluffy. I always expect more toothsome. Flavor was good but the everything bagels have more salt than anything else on them. I like my everything bagels to be covered in the everything!
The bacon, egg, and cheese on the bagels was tasty though! The flavored cream cheese was great. The flavors of blueberry and honey really came through.
We are two and had two the next day. After a day, they more resembled the texture I think a bagel should have. Maybe I’ll get used to the fluffiness but I really would like there to be more everything seasoning. Take a look at my photos and decide for yourself.
