I will be reporting this to corporate, and I’m calling the state first thing in the morning to make sure this complaint is taken care of. I had to go to the pharmacy with my daughter after the third time she came home crying, unable to come home with her medication. She’s currently 20 yrs old, three months pregnant, emotional, and has a lot of stomach issues to begin with, and RELIES on Zofran (strong nausea medication) to be able to keep ANY form of food down, and to take care of the debilitating nausea throughout the day. This pharmacy was discriminatory, unprofessional, unaware of the of their own services, and oblivious to recent changes to Fidelis medicine. Let me start from the beginning. She’s been using this pharmacy for years. Recently she UPGRADED to a different insurance, and stopped being on my plan. She applied for Medicaid, and was denied twice, because she makes too much in a year to be covered. She gave them her new Fidelis insurance card, and they did not know how to put the card into their system. They insisted that she had Medicaid, and they needed to see her Medicaid card, telling her that she was on “Fidelis manage Medicaid” every time she went to the pharmacy. They refused to take her insurance card, her metal level plan that she pays for, and laughed at her because Medicaid would not have covered tht prescription. She tried explaining over and over that she does not have Medicaid, begging them to try and put her ID number in the system. But they would not listen, and insisted she had Medicaid, and it would not cover her prescription anyway. When she finally got somebody to insert her ID number into their computer, they told her that our insurance would need to approve the coverage for the Zofran. When I heard all of this, I was floored, and I knew it was completely incorrect. So I tried to take action. The fourth time, I went with her to the pharmacy. Before we went, we located her denial letters from Medicaid, a recent bill from her Fidelis metal level plan, and an email that showed it was preapproved already. We went to the pharmacy with our insurance providers on the phone, telling the pharmacists that my daughter does not have Medicaid, she pays for a metal level plan, that her medication was approved weeks ago, and that their computer system should have got Fidelis plan changes on record. We went back-and-forth with one of the pharmacist, until she got so frustrated, insisting that she has Medicaid, rolling her eyes at us, and telling us we were wrong. After about 15 minutes I called Fidelis back, to try and show her that her information was incorrect. She left, and stated “ well I wouldn’t be able to do anything for you anyway, because our computer system has been down all morning. She spent all that time telling us that we were wrong, wasting our time while my daughter is suffering, when she could have that their computer system was not and my daughter would be unable to get her prescription that day to begin with. Finally, the conclusion that we came to, was that she would call my daughter when their computer system was back. six hours later, my daughter gets a call. The same pharmacist on the phone tells my daughter, “ you have a high deductible on what appears to be a metal level insurance plan, you would have to pay upwards of $300 for your Zofran, because of how high your deductible is. We tried to offer you a coupon code, and you missed out on $11 Zofran.” she has a $400 deductible on her insurance. They were lying, to make their ignorance and unprofessionalism, appear, correct. No apology was given to my daughter. My daughter did end up switching over to my pharmacy, and when she picked up her prescription, she gave them her insurance card, there was no charge, no issue with her insurance, because the medication under her low deductible, metal level plan, that she pays for. Disgusted with the way my daughter was treated. I will be calling the State & making a complaint. Train your people better, and keep updated records for christs sake. Unprofessional, & I will let...
Read moreThis is the third strike and time to write an honest review. First they called to tell me they couldn't fill it and then suddenly they could. They gave me a THREE month supply of medication that expires in ONE month. They must have found it at the bottom of a bin somewhere. I noticed in the parking lot and went back in. She was very rude when I asked why I was taking something that was expiring in a month (when every other time for the past 20 years the medication I take always expires a year from when I receive it.) She didn't look at me, just said take it as it's expiring, and walked away. Apparently once i leave the pharmacy i cant return it even though i wasnt properly informed. I went to two other pharmacies and showed them the medication. Both said absolutely do not take it and call your doctor. I also asked a nurse who informed me not to take it. Now I am trying to call my insurance company to override it so i can have it refilled somewhere else and I wont have it in time. They have done this before. One time they said it was filled and when I went to pick it up it wasn't there and I couldn't take my medication in time then either. That time the same woman said "just call around and see who has it " like I'm shopping for tic tacs and i can just pick it up anywhere without a perscription. Another time I went there they completely changed the medication to a different brand without informing me or even asking. Just slipped it to me and ran off behind the counter. The pharmascist behind the counter has tried to sell me eggs from her chickens she owns personally to make a little side money. But her actual job? Nope... just take expired medication. Shame on her. Absolutely do...
