So far it’s been a little rugged. Booked online but was NOT told by national call center that we had to go to Johnson City to open the account so passed right by JC to Owego had to drive back to JC then went to Owego to put items in storage. Was told by Mgr in JC that call center sometimes “forgets” to tell customers to come to JC first. Took somewhat beleaguered but pleasant manager (this seems like a dangerous job given some of the clientele he discussed) up on the one month free rent special yesterday as July was to be the free month. Was billed today for July - after being told this month was free - was put on hold twice for over 15 min to rectify. Heard ticket was created and Mgr will be notified in JC tomorrow. Was put on hold again by national office but no one came back to clarify if I’m being billed or not after an endless hold. I’m using this area because it’s about $200 or more a month cheaper than Ithaca but you get what you pay for so if you want climate controlled 24 hr access without customers drag racing inside to the gates which happened in Owego the day we were there on Friday - then pay the 299 or more a month in Ithaca or get this “deal” - buy insurance, deal w the sketchy vibes at the site, understand the left hand doesn’t seem to know that the right hand is doing between the national and local...
Read moreDo NOT do business with this place! We signed up and paid for a unit, drove 3 hours just to get here (TWICE) and not be able to access the property. NOBODY ever picks up the phone. And if they do it’s from a call center down in FL who can’t do anything to help you. We were given the property managers direct number, and they NEVER pick up. Decided to cancel our lease and was told it would take 6-8 weeks but it’s been “escalated.” It’s been a month and we have not received a refund, but instead got 2 invoices notifying us we are late! Called to speak to management and the call center can’t even get in touch with them. They can only suggest to “keep trying, keep calling.” POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, POOR WAY TO DO BUSINESS! How can you continue to charge someone for something they’ve never had access to?! And not even reach out to them to resolve the issue? They have not one phone number, but was given TWO numbers to contact us plus they have our email! We have a unit at their other location that we tried to access this weekend and couldn’t. I am assuming because of it being related to this unit and supposedly being late on it? Tried to call for help and again NO ONE ANSWERS and you’re routed to the call center in FL! Read moreI rented this unit 4 days earlier than I wanted to because they wouldn't let me reserve it for the first of the month. All my reservation was for was the monthly cost. It was the last unit left to rent at this particular facility. It was disappointing that there's no onsite managers at the Owego facility. I wanted to see the unit I would be renting before I rented it, to make sure there was nothing wrong with it (needed to be cleaned or that it was damaged in any way). I then had to go back 15 miles to the Office to fill out the paperwork for renting the unit. I could've done it online, but I am technologically challenged and wanted signed paperwork in hand. The unit was swept and was acceptable for move in. I took pictures through, of the walls, because (they were white in some spots) I don't want to be responsible for any damage that happened prior to my moving in, when I'm done with the unit and move out. I have rented a unit in the same place when it was under different ownership/management. I like where the facility is located and am fairly happy with the cost of the rental. I'm just beginning to put my items into the unit. Overall, I'm satisfied. I hope it's not a long term rental, but even if it is, I like the access house and am glad I remembered...
