Michael Husted has made 2 special sentimental pieces for me and they are exquisite! I brought him a Cape May diamond and he celebrated my brother (who passed away) with a necklace which enclosed the stone with rose gold hand carved leaves, a post with both of our birthstones, and a beautiful antiqued chain. Uniquely Victorian and sentimentally perfect - my brother is close to my heart. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. The second piece is a beautiful triangular piece of flawless green sea glass (which deserves to be a piece of jewelry) which Michael capped with a wave motif using a complement of white sapphires in a wave pattern. From Skip and Jill, Javan, Kristen, and the rest of their extremely professional and personable staff (if you time it right - this time of year Skip will have warm chocolate chip cookies waiting) it is beyond me why anyone would consider going anywhere else. I had a ring given to me by a family member, every time she wore it I would fall more in love with the ring. Her husband had passed away, she called me up one day and asked if I would come visit. Of course I did go over and we had a wonderful time talking about old times. Then she handed me this gift bag and said I have a little something for you, I opened it and there was the beautiful ring I always admired. I started to tear up she said she wanted someone to have that would love it like I did, I was so very honored. The next day I took it in to Van Horns Jewelers to have it checked. Skip looked at it and said I think my dad made this ring, I told him the story and then he knew for sure as his dad and Ken Wolf were great friends. I was afraid to wear it all the time but Skip said to wear it and enjoy it. I looked at it one day and noticed a stone missing I was devastated and felt like I let Jeana down. I went to Van Horns to have it fixed, it didn't take very long, but I just didn't have the money right then to get it out. They were very patient with me waiting so long before picking it up. When I did pick it up oh my gosh, it looked like a brand new ring, you would never have known where it was fixed, Mike did a fantastic job. I've visited this place many times and have also made many purchases including having them design a wedding band however this particular review I will only reference my latest visit... I had noticed that my wife's engagement ring had broken right near where the stone is. Plus the setting was a little bit bent as she has randomly hit it on various things. I brought the ring down to have them take a look at repairing it and in addition to the problems I saw they also after taking a closer look told me that it was getting weak on the other side of the stone as well.

No problem I said, go ahead and fix all of that and let me know when it's ready. They took some pictures and gave me a receipt and an estimate.

Now the repairs took about a month, however I don't look at this as a bad thing because if they have that many things to do in front of me they must be pretty good. (People are obviously trusting them with repairs) I've never been unhappy with any purchase I've made but this is the first time I've had something repaired.
