Harbor Freight — Local services in Town of Oyster Bay

Absolutely awful experience. Bought and paid for a Drummond 1/4 Hp sump pump with a 2 year protection plan. Was NEVER told that once you put it in water you can no longer return it to the store. Out of the box the pump wouldn’t work. Spoke to 2 managers and a supervisor and neither one was helpful. One named John the supervisor couldn’t have seemed any less interested in what I had to say and wouldn’t even look at me while I spoke to him and one of the managers named Kevin said that he was ‘not going to get involved with this conversation’ I’m sorry but isn’t your entire job based around customer service?? Overall customer service was absolutely horrendous and none of the people there know how to speak to people and if the store’s policy is not to return things in store they should let you know that at the time of purchase. Harbor freight was always my go to buy today you guys have 100% lost at least...

I called Harbor Freight in Massapequa today with some questions about the upcoming Predator 11,500W Tri-Fuel Inverter Generator, and I had the pleasure of speaking with Billy, the Assistant Store Manager. Even though the product hasn’t hit stores yet, Billy was incredibly helpful, attentive, and honest. He took the time to explain how product releases are typically handled and let me know he stays in the loop daily for updates.

His professionalism, friendly attitude, and willingness to help—despite not having the product in yet—really stood out. It’s rare to find someone so patient and genuinely customer-focused these days. The store itself is good nice selection is clean and organized however there was an incident that needs to be addressed by management an elderly woman was mistreated by a chubby he seemed to be hispanic cashier it was around 1:45 pm today he was extremely rude to her I said to the other cashier that this man was extremely rude to her and he said he would take care of the woman I cannot stand when an employee is rude to a customer however the fact that it was an elderly woman who was clearly waiting her turn to be rung up makes it worse if he was closing the register fine but being nice is FREE!!
