I was really hoping to write a positive review because I have used this location since I was a child without issue. My previous visit was a few years ago and I had a great experience. Today's visit did not go well. I was the 6am appointment, first of the day, and they didn't open the doors until 6am eventhough I had already recieved a text and checked in earlier. I waited in line outside the door with a few others until a staff member came down the hall to unlock the door at 6am on the dot. Why have a 6am appointment if you don't even arrive until 6? Another staff member showed up after that with no mask on and made a client, who didn't have a mask on either, wait in the hallway until she brought him a mask. She must have grabbed herself a mask while she was getting him one because when she came out of the office she finally had a mask on. Once I was called in, she asked me if I could produce a urine sample. I said maybe since I already went and they told me that I needed to be sure or I would have to go back in the lobby and wait until I could because I would hold up everyone else's appointments. Because of this, I agreed to giving them a urine sample but when she finally asked for my order form and scanned it she told me they could not perform the test and that I would have to contact my employer or my doctor to get another form. I was very confused why my employer was being brought up since the test I was there for did not concern them. I was also confused as to why they asked me to produce a urine sample in the first place because I was there for a vaccine titer which requires a blood draw not urine. All types of healthcare/medical offices love to pregnancy test women and it was so early in the morning I didn't question it when I should have. I ended up leaving and my doctor called Quest to find out what was going on. I decided to write this review after finding out the following information from my doctor. The order form my doctor gave me was correct and I shouldn't have had any issues. This location tried to process my order as a drug test (urine toxicology) instead of the test I was actually there for, which was clearly indicated on the form I gave her. That's why the computer rejected it and said the test couldn't be done. They tried to tell me I was going to hold up everyone else but in reality they were trying to give me the wrong test! Do not go here. I have another appointment at a different location and Quest told my doctor that I should have staff at the office call them if this issue happens again so they can walk them through how to...
Read moreI got blood work taken here and was pleasantly surprised at how friendly the staff was, how clean the property is, and how fast the process went. Especially given the horrible reviews. The only other blood work I’ve had was at a diff lab (which was not a quest facility) and it was TINY and dirty and the people clearly hated their jobs. My experience at Quest was the complete opposite! I did not have an appointment even though it is very strongly encouraged so I got there 10 mins before they opened and waited in the parking lot (along with 2 other cars). I got into the waiting room around 6:03 and was the 3rd person to check in. The first 2 people went in and while I was waiting, someone with an appointment came in and was seen before me (exactly what should have happened and what I expected to happen). They called me in shortly after and the woman who drew my blood (Shante I believe) was so friendly (and perky for 620 AM lol). We chatted while she took my blood and it was a quick and painless process. All in all, it was a pleasant and quick experience!
I think most people leaving poor reviews are arriving without appointments in the middle of the day and expecting to be seen quickly. You can make an appointment online (seems like it’s booked at least 4-5 days out) OR if you’re gonna go without an appointment do it at 5:59AM like me!
I will be returning to this facility for any future Quest visits that...
Read moreMy bf and I decided to walk into quest in Massapequa on Merrick rd (by the king kullen). We arrived around 2:40 as a walk in for regular bloodwork. There was no one in the waiting room. I was called back to get my bloodwork drawn and was asked if I fasted. I said no because my Dr told me I did not have to for the work that he ordered. Then she goes to speak to Kimberly who is another phlebotomist (not a manager or supervisor). She comes back and says that they cannot take my blood. Obviously I want to know why do I ask to speak to Kimberly. Kimberly says because it’s too much bloodwork to be drawn at this time. ( my work required 7 little vials of blood). Of course I’m upset but stayed calm n professional. I said it’s only 2:45 (they close at 3:30) and there’s no one waiting. She simply says that they can’t do it. I asked for her name (Kimberly) because I wanted to write this review. I will never return. I was simply disgusted with the lack of customer service. I’ve been to many quest locations and have never been turned away. But now I will go somewhere else before ever choosing quest again. I suggest everyone look at these reviews and their rating of two stars, and go...
