Okay so i walked into this establishment after taking my mom to quest for a fasting blood test. There was ONE (1) white lady in front of me she stepped to the cashier which was a tall male over 6 feet, appeared to be white. He finished with her order, she walked out I moved directly in front of the white male’s cash register he looked at me and walked away. He positioned himself over by the deli counter and asked the WHITE lady BEHIND “can I help you”! I looked at him right in his eye and he then stated “oh can I help you I didn’t see you”! I said yes you did I was next I was directly in front the register that you walked away from. I also stated “you couldn’t see me because of the color my skin, is it because I’m BLACK?!” He came back to the register asking me if he can take my order.. I said NO! I don’t want you to assist me. I was told This gentleman name is Will. RACISM is a real thing people. For all the hateful people in this world do understand karma is also real. How you are treat people does not go unnoticed by GOD. So to you will I hope you educate yourself, learn your history! My experience with Will was horrible! Hope no other black person is treated in this manner! My response to the owner: To assume my accusation was baseless speaks in volume! A a person in a managerial position and who holds customer care to a high value, would one (1) be apologetic for the treatment your employee gave me a paying customer. Two (2) What you could’ve also done was conduct an investigation (look at your camera footage, contact me, etc.). However being that you defended this egregious behavior tells me YOU are part of the problem. Also, Hispanic people are very racist as well and how I know, is because my best friend for over twenty (20 years) who is also Hispanic enlightened me on how racist they can be with there own ethnicity. So for you to even use the fact that he is Hispanic to invalidate MY CLAIM is another indication of how small minded you are. You need as a manager; learn how resolve issues not create more, conflict resolution and customer care should be your priority! the American dollar is green not black or white! Remember today you’re a manager tomorrow out of business and no means to take care of your family! RACISM IS SERIOUS and VERY real! I am a retired law enforcement Captain and I have a whole lot of time on my hands, having coffee at your establishment would’ve been a regular thing, BUt, it was to hard for you to render an apology for you employees poor behavior! I could tell you who your employee was talking to prior to him walking away from me when I stood directly in front of him. What she ordered, what her attire was, and how many people was in your establishment at the time. Please don’t tell me my claim was baseless. I have a photograph memory, filled with experience , observant, street smart and educated. I suggest you read, comprehend/digest, step away then respond. Take care!

Such a disappointing way to start my day and year! Very rude and unprofessional staff. Could definitely tell I went on a day where the owner wasn’t there because not only did they three people behind the counter look insanely overwhelmed with the 3-4 people they were serving. Needless to say I will not be back because the food here is average AT BEST and I will happily drive an extra mile to get better food and a more accommodating staff. It’s too bad places like this have gone down hill so much recently.

I love coming here with my Dad, who has been taking me to all my MD appts. So to make a day of it, we come here and they are all so special, kind and make it easy as Dad is 90 and I’m recovering from surgery. They are helpful, welcoming smiles, delicious food and we love to sit and chat and enjoy the newspapers and neighbors who are also wonderful! Thank you BCE for helping to make more memories 💖

I do not ever write reviews but, today was the last time I'll ever order from here.

Their food is actually the best deli food in the area BUT, the way they handle orders/people is juvenile at best. I order food ahead using restaurants or deli's applications so I do not have to wait 20-30 mins on-line in store. I can just walk in, grab my food and go about my day. Nope, That logic and reason does not seem to apply to Bagel Cafe.

I ordered 35 minutes ahead of pick up and was told I had to wait in the back of the line (Sometimes behind 30-40 people on school days but let's not go there) to grab my food that was already on the counter in a bag, paid for and ready to go. This was not the first time this has happened either. I can not comprehend that logic. Why even pay fees to apps like grubhub/door dash/whatever for people to order ahead, then when they come into your store your customers have to wait behind everyone just to grab a bag? VERY BAD business practice and Bagel Cafe is the only place I know that does this. Virtually every other place lets you walk right up to the counter, or has a designated area for online orders, that you can just grab your meal and go. No problem.

Worst part is, after I tried explaining to the man behind the deli counter I ordered almost 40 minutes prior and the bag RIGHT behind him is mine, he seemed to not care, brushed me off and continued to call NEXT. Not cool. I hope the owner does something about these practices because this makes zero sense from a business aspect and also from a customer's aspect.

If you want to make people wait in line, Take your orders off apps like eat street or grub hub. No point in giving people the option to order ahead if they have to stand in line anyway (and your food is cold by then time its your turn).

That's like buying a flash pass at 6flags or Disney but still have to wait in line with everyone to experience a ride, aka no point...

This place is a decent place to grab some bagels, but the customer service ? I know some of the guys are good and have been there for a long time. But the younger girls there? Especially the woman with the purple hair or whatever. I am quite the patient person but she was so beyond rude and unprofessional when assisting me. Slamming my coffee, speaking to me in a de humanizing tone. Just a awful way to start your day. God forbid I ask for what creamers they have ? And don’t respond to this talkin bout “ oh we value customer service “ I’ve read some of your reviews. I’m taking my business across the street...
