It's been a while since I've made a review of a business. Mostly I make reviews of place we go to eat. My wife Kelly gives me her true opinion but is a bit shy to write about it. We both decided to start a blog that will be coming soon as well make more reviews on places we go like Great American Jewelry. So here is my review with input from my wife.
Like all of us we have some jewelry mostly her from her last marriage. Her engagement ring and earrings which she had no love or interest in as well as feeling it was bad Karma to keep them.
So like a lot of people do now is we went to Google to see where we could sell our jewelry. We live in Babylon and found some places close to us.
I found Great American Jewelry with a 5 star review. There were others with 4.6 and 4.8 close to us but I told Kelly, let's drive out to Massapequa first then work our way back.
So we arrived there and was greeted by Mary very friendly and welcoming. We presented our jewelry and she looked at it like a professional jeweler. Very straight forward which I like being from the old school. She said to us let me bring this to Larry to make sure I'm right.
Larry came out and was a bit stern but professional. He examined the rings and earrings. Then he did his numbers and told us what the value was. My wife had the appraisal that was given when her ex bought the ring but this was from a friend of some other friend who new a jeweler. Yeah, you know what I mean.
Larry explained the cut and clarity of the stone and was very honest with us about the true value. I know they have to make money on there own and that is what I told my wife after he was calculating numbers. We both liked the price he was giving us and then that's when we knew we picked the right place to sell the diamond and earrings.
Larry mentioned the meaning of numbers. My wife looked at me. I know her look. I believe in number signs. This is how I knew we picked the right place. Our conversation went from customers to friends.
We talked about numbers and there meanings as well as life situations and how we meet our loved ones. Before we knew it an hour in a half went by. My wife even found a ring she wanted. She not a big jewelry lady but I know when she likes something it's because she really likes it.
So in conclusion Mary and Larry made our day on Sunday July 24th 2022. I know I have to go back but secretly to get that ring for my wife. Don't know how I'll do it because she likes to be with me all the time when we are not working. Old school thing she got used to.
So if you have old jewelry with no sentimental value and especially from an ex. Go to Great American Jewelry, say Rafael and Kelly sent us because we read their review. You will be welcomed with a smile and maybe time will slip by like us and you'll make new...

I thought this was a Normal thing for a jeweler to do so I trusted this Jeweler and After Wearing this ring for a Day I Realized it was to tight as I had paid 70.00 . So I went back and the Jeweler made it Bigger . I then went home and Later on I realized my initials were buffed off so I then went back a 3rd time and Left it with them to please have my initials Reengraved . 4 days later I returned and Picked up the ring and it seemed Different ( Lighter and Shaved Down ) but i could not be sure so I requested a Copy from the original mold and brought it to a Several Jewelers and they said the same thing that the My Ring while perhaps slightly Lighter had been Stretched , Buffed and Hammered Out to excess and no longer Same Ring I had brought in . I Then went back to to Great American at there request as I had Left a 1 star review and They Could Not Understand Why ? They tried to tell me it was the Same ring and when i had it made from the Mold it was Smaller and I By Wearing it , it was worn down After 5 Years They Blamed Everyone Else and would Accept No Responsibility I was Polite and Left as It was my perception according to Them . No that was not the case as i brought it Back the the Original Jeweler and he saw the Difference so to make a Long Story short I have to have The Ring Remade . My Cost based on What they did will be over 600.00 . 70 I paid them for Bad Sizing and around 600.00 Dollars more to have the ring remade Based on Mold and Cost of Gold after I Sell the ring they Ruined for Scrap for about 700.00 Depending On what I can sell it for when My New replacement Ring is Made . Just Compare The Photos as well as My estimate from the original Jeweler who made The Ring to make this Right . Never Again They Could have at Least Reimbursed me for a Very Bad Sizing . Just Compare...

The owners are always there and the staff plus the Jeweler couldn't be more respectful and really listen to you in helping with what you might be looking for. The designer has just incredible insight and knowledge of designing something with the help of the Jeweler that makes your experience informative and relaxed, always thinking out of the box. They just don't push you, they help to guide you which is so important and makes you feel that your just not a customer. I have been with them for many years. Not only buying their pieces but having pieces personally designed. And the best is if you have pieces at home that you don't wear anymore you can bring them in and their designer can help you foresee a future piece for you. Personally I have brought many pieces of jewelry into them and have them make some fabulous pieces for me that is unique and more fitting of the cutrent styles. They will present a mock up first and you can always go back in to tweak it until your happy. No pressure. Great American Jewelry is the best. And I say that because when your there you see customers coming and going and they know each one by first name off the bat. That speaks it all. Repeat and repeat customers over the many years. You know they are doing something right! I am sure years from now they will still be there growing and keeping up with the current jewelry. You can also sell pieces that you don't want anymore and they always give you the best market value. As I approach my next journey moving out of state I would still continue to use them to buy or design. I could go on and on but the last point I want to make is that if you have never visited, please just take a visit and feel and see for yourself. Great American Jewelry is the best!! Thank you, Extremely...
