Almost two years ago we bought a living room set and a chest at RAYMOUR FLANIGAN QO 757 Vassar Road Poughkeepsie NY 12603, the seller advised us to pay insurance on the price of the furniture, which we did. About a month later the handles on the chest broke just by opening the drawers. We called the store and after several days they brought us the drawers handles (we had to install them ourselves). later, the cushions on the backs of the sofa began to deform and the part with which the seat cushions are supported began to break (I make it clear that this began to happen after approximately three months of use), that's why we called the store and they told us that they would send someone to check the sofa, after several days a guy came and took photos of the damage. He gave us a number to call. We called that number and they told us that it was covered by the warranty, that we should go to the Poughkeepsie store to choose another sofa. When we got to the store, the floor manager attended us (we did not tell him that we were going for the guarantee) we only told him that we wanted to see a sofa, the guy was super nice, he even offered us water. When we find the right sofa we inform the manager that we come with the guarantee. At that moment the guy dramatically changed his attitude, from then on he was very rude to us, showing obvious anger. He told us that they did not have the type of sofa that we chose this time and that they would let us know when they had it, when we asked him when he thought he would have it, he responded with a very bad temper I DO NOT KNOW !! and he also told us that he did not have time to attend us (that we should have called) to make an appointment with him. He made it clear that he WAS NOT DOING ANYTHING, AND THAT THERE WERE NO MORE CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE THAN US. I am very disappointed with the way we were looked after by that "manager". A total lack of respect and lack of professionalism. Until today we are waiting for you to call us for the availability of the sofa we choose. He also told us that we would have to pay the delivery, because they will bring the new sofa and take away the garbage that they sold us earlier. I will never step foot in this...
Read moreHow would I rate my experience? Upon entering, you will be welcomed by a team of enthusiastic salespeople who wait desperately by the door for you to grace them with your presence. The lucky salesperson who was able to greet you and say hello will then be responsible for hovering ever so close to you as you walk around the store, waiting in awe for the moment you need their assistance. I have shopped at Raymour and Flanigan outlet previously, so I was prepared for my upcoming encounter. My salesperson was helpful, attentive, did the normal upselling, all things expected of a typical day at Raymour and Flanigan outlet. Check out is when things began to go downhill. A manager stood next to me, staring at me the entire check-out process. During check-out, I asked for a mattress to be removed. The cashier had to confirm with the salesperson if this was ok as if they could somehow force me to purchase an item I no longer wanted. This same cashier also asked to verify my identification even though I was paying with my debit card. When the receipt was issued, the manager took the receipt directly from the cashier and walked to a different desk to verify my purchased items. Now, this was for a $300 bed. Once confirmed, they demanded I sign the necessary paperwork for shipping and then forgot to give me back my receipt. It was such an uncomfortable experience. I should have canceled, but I did not want the headache of a return, and I really needed it. As I mentioned, I have small children, so I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of furniture in the past because outlet furniture does not hold up to the hands of time. I think this will be my last time here. Overall, I would give the salesperson an A. The cashier a C and raymour and flanigan management an F. the workers are only doing what Management is forcing on them. I don’t know if my experience was a racial thing … that is TBD, but it does...
Read moreBefore I begin - I really like Raymour and Flanigan furniture. This review is specifically for the outlet center in Poughkeepsie.
I had a terrible experience with this business for several reasons. First, the couch I purchased showed up and was a very poor quality build. Lumpy cushions, a creaky wood frame, and just overall not nearly as comfortable as the model in store.
I learned the furniture is made by outside vendors approved by Raymour and Flanigan, but the end product results in a Bob's Discount Furniture level of quality. When I visited the Raymour and Flanigan showroom (not the outlet) and merely mentioned I bought a cough from the outlet, the salesman immediately said "I am sorry to hear that," showing this furniture has a poor reputation even among the company's own sales team.
When I called for a technician to see the couch, I was given a 8AM through 1PM timeframe for them to visit. Finally, the technician showed up an hour late at 2PM (not apologetic whatsoever) and told me they saw the same issues with the couch....only for their report to state it was only a cushion issue. Even after agreeing in-person otherwise.
After arguing over the phone just for store credit to get anything else (certainly not a couch), I was rudely told I must work this out with a manager over at a showroom to be considered for even store credit.
Deceptive business practices, poor quality furniture and horrible customer service lead to a 1-star review. Ironic, considering the Raymour and Flanigan showroom across the street has been nothing but...
