Margaritas — Restaurant in Town of Poughkeepsie

Anyone who thinks this is good Mexican food obviously has never had real Mexican. Coming from South Carolina, where Mexican restaurants are as numerous as pizza joints are up here, and having lived in California for a while, I can tell you that Margaritas is NOT real Mexican nor is it good Mexican. It sadly is the only place in town though, unless you want to mention Salsas who I caught using a cheese wiz type product on their nachos. So being stuck between a rock and a hard place, I have been to Margaritas a few times. Tonight was the last. I left there 6 hours ago and still have indigestion from their steak fajitas. I agree with the other reviewer about the beans and rice tasting like they were microwaved, though in my case, being microwaved would have been a step up. All of ours were cold in the middle. We sat down, order guacamole and chili con queso to go with our chips and even before the guacamole got to us, the waitress was serving our main dishes. The other thing I dont understand is that they refuse to serve us water in the larger glasses they use for soda. My family and I only drink water and they actually told me no when we asked for larger cups so we didnt have to keep waiting for the water boy to come around and fill up the small water glasses time after time. I think after tonights fiasco, my family and I are truly done with this place. Besides, I can cook better Mexican food in my sleep. Horrible place! Love this place except for the last visit. Waitress seemed to have an attitude from the get go. She didn't "check" on us till we were almost done so I had to ask a bus lady for more salsa. Than when she finally showed we said I needed a box, this took longer than usual. As she cleared my plate the Salsa cup tipped off the plate on to the table. She walks away with heavy dish. I figure she will be right back to wipe it up. WRONG! She finished off the bill brings it than straddles the mess with ck holder! I had to pick it up carefully to even see the check without salsa all over it. She picks it up STILL not cleaning the mess. Brings it back ready for signature once again straddling. Needless to say her tip went with her attitude. Plus I returned it to the place she presented. I should have brought it up with the manager i was just stunned. We have gone there regularly for years and this was the first bad experience there. Hope it's the last, would hate to have to look for a new favorite...

We have been coming here for a 15 years the food is always fresh delicious the staff is always super warm and welcoming Juan one of the owners and managers has been there the entire time and it has been an absolute pleasure my entire family used to go there as a family now we all go there as a family in separately because my kids have gotten old enough to go there on their own and we bring our family and friends are all the time they got a new facelift new menus new to go containers new uniforms we're so happy for them everything looks amazing they deserve nothing but the best if you're looking for a great place to go for Mexican restaurants you have a lot of choices but this should be...
