I personally love Aldi. This is the only Aldi I have ever shopped at, being fairly new to Dutchess County and not having an Aldi in my old neighborhood. I've come to rely on them for things like milk, eggs, and bread, which are cheaper than at a typical large-chain grocery store, without sacrificing on quality. They have a fantastic selection of cheeses, so any time I plan to serve charcuterie, I come here. The produce is generally good, but I have found that fruit does not last more than a few days before the quality begins to suffer (particularly the grapes, strawberries, and raspberries). The selection in general is decent but if you're looking for something specialized, you may not find it here (ie, you can get white mushrooms or baby bella, but you're not going to find anything beyond that like crimini or shiitake). Most of the pantry items are ok. We weren't pleased with grape jelly or bottled juice, but brown basmati rice, pita chips and tortilla chips are staples in our house. This location doesn't carry wine unfortunately. They do have some name-brand items. In general, you may want to price-compare. I used to be able to buy avocados for under $1 and on a recent trip, they were $1.50. Overall, I like shopping at Aldi but because of the low prices, I tend to buy more than I originally plan to. My only complaint is that although the cashiers are always very quick, they generally do not open more than 2 checkout lanes. I've found some surprisingly good finds in the seasonal aisle (truffles, biscoff cookies, etc). I generally only purchase food items, so I can't speak to the quality of their household goods. The meat is decent and I regularly purchase chicken breasts and thighs, but I'm not a fan of the frozen seafood (shrimp and salmon were both very poor quality). Beef...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been a loyal Aldi consumer for about 2 years now; if you donāt already know Aldi is the only place in the 22nd century that one could purchase quality groceries at an affordable price. Granted the aisles arenāt always stocked and the checkout lines reach the meat department ā Iāve proudly opted out of stop & shops extortion for a while now & am team #Aldi.Just recently however I was assaulted by a team member, we all know how the cashiers get behind ātheirā carts. Long story short, Iām bagging my items while the cashier is ringing me up I guess she gets upset at the fact that I too am working the cart & begins chucking items at me. Iām talking about throwing whole ice cream and juice containers that I had to shout āwhatās wrong with you?!ā She shrugs her shoulders and tells me she has to move quick so we go back and fourth regarding her behavior and impersonal skills .. short after the manager shows up stating Aldiās tight check out system and i respond that policy has nothing to do with 1/4 of the cart being empty and your employee specifically chucking things at me. Iām upset that I canāt remember the employeeās name but it was either kathrine, Katrina, cate something to that extent. As weāre finishing up I snatch the remaining 2 items out of her hand and she starts to panic when the same aggression is returned. The best part was after all this rushing the cashier didnāt even have a box in her register significantly delaying their ātight check outā the manager here must be a retired Lieutenant In the air force cause thatās exactly what she gave during our interaction . Hopefully theyāll invest in self check out or robotic cashiers soon because clearly the staff is sick of it. Sitting down while scanning at $18/hour isnāt cutting it anymore and their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAldi was recommended by a friend that shops in Aldi Danbury and I do like the prices and certain products. So I try to shop here time to time. Not my favorite store. One thing I noticed is the lines are out of control and every time I go here, I must be the 10th in the line for the two lanes that are usually open. I went yesterday and put my stuff on the belt. The belt seems like a airport conveyer belt and just kept going. The girl at the register put my grocery in a cart š and goes ā¦. this is my cart. You canāt take it with you. I wanted to tell her to keep the cart and the grocery because she was so rude.
I need to figure out the best time to go here when there is no line and check out is a bit easier. I go once or twice a month but every single time I leave stressed and unhappy because of horrendous customer service. I am used to grocery lines specially on a weekend but this is by far the worst store in the area when it comes to customer service. Hopefully the management ( which I have never seen on the floor ) managing the lines will take notice. I will definitely come to shop more if I didnāt have to wait for 30 mins to check out two items with employees that has such...
