Saugerties Furniture Mart — Local services in Town of Saugerties

I have been meaning to write this review for over a year, but am just getting around to it and am glad I waited. I can attest to the fact that this furniture is beautiful, well made and can stand the test of time. My custom made sofa and recliner look as beautiful today, over a year later, as the day they were delivered. I believe in supporting hometown businesses, so SFM was the first place I went when I needed new furniture. We were met by the owner, Russell, who told us to look around and he would be available for any questions. First of all...the selection is amazing !!! My daughter and I literally spent hours there because of the amount of inventory they have. Immediately you can see that this is very high quality furniture, yet the prices are very reasonable and all the ones I looked at were made in the USA which was very important to me. Russell would catch up with us every so often, offering information and listening to what I was looking for. I finally decided on the sofa, then had to pick from the literally hundreds, maybe thousands of fabric swatches...wow!!! Loved the one I picked out, it has proven to be very durable with minimum care needed. I also bought a recliner to match, which I wasn't really planning on, but when Russell told me I could get it in the matching fabric of my sofa, I had to have it. And thank God I did...in June of 2014, I broke my ankle, had to have surgery and spent the next 4 months in that recliner...sleeping in it and all !!! Still looks brand new after all that wear and tear...Both the sofa and recliner are very very comfortable with just the right amt of firmness and support. Needless to say, I am very pleased with my furniture and my experience with Russell and SFM. Thank you so much for a great product that we will enjoy for...

We had been looking for a new entertainment center for quite a while, but couldn't find one that met our needs. We had been searching online when we came across some that looked like they might be acceptable at Saugerties Furniture Mart. Plus, the web site said some of the items could be customized. We weren't quite sure to what degree that was possible, so we made a trip to the store to check things out. There we met Jonathan, who showed us some floor samples, and many others in several catalogs. None were exactly what we wanted, and that's when Jonathan explained that we could customize a unit to our exact specifications!

I had brought along a sketch of what we wanted, and Jonathan sent that off to the furniture craftsmen for a quote, which he sent us a day or two later. Meanwhile, I had revised my thinking a bit, so we did another round of getting a quote.

We were happy with the revised design and the quoted price, so we placed an order with Jonathan. He gave us an estimated delivery date.

Our entertainment center arrived ahead of schedule, and it's beautiful. The craftsmanship is excellent, and the finish on the wood is a great match for our other furniture in the room.

I called this furniture store on a recommendation from a friend asking about a specific bed frame I was looking for. He said they had one but it was not inexpensive. I did not specify that it had to be inexpensive and did not allude to the fact that I was “looking for a deal” - I asked how much it was and instead of giving me a price asked what my budget was. When I told him the range we were looking at (because I found a similar bed frame that was solid wood and handmade for this price) he said “it’s more expensive than that.” At this point I decided he did not want my business so I got off the phone with him. I would not recommend this business on this phone call alone. I called because I live 45 mins drive away and wanted to make sure they had what I was looking for before I spent the time, energy and gas driving there to look in person. So glad I didn’t waste my time going there. I went to Bare Furniture in Accord instead, who had friendly customer service, sent me photos via email of their custom made furniture and put the piece on hold for me for just expressing an interest.
