I took my young son to the store today. He just started collecting and was hoping hoping to get a few cool coins to add to his collection. The owner, John, was more helpful than anyone could expect. We had went to a couple shops prior and were depressed by the expensive prices and snobby employees after they realized we weren't after pricy items. John took his time to explain a lot about the coins to my son. He showed us old coins that have seen better days..but were EXACTLY what we wanted. A pile of old coins my son viewed as the ultimate treasure! We were able to get a bunch for generous prices. We walked out with some starter kits, some exciting old coins and smiles on our faces. John is an awesome guy and more than fair in all transactions - selling or buying. I recently sold some silver to John, both US Mint and secondary market silver coins and one ounce silver pieces - very happy with valuations - once again more than fair. Also sold some silver currency - half dollars and quarters - John took the time to look through every coin and tell me which ones had greater value and paid out accordingly. I recently also bought some Morgan and Peace Dollars, and again his prices were very fair. I still have some more coin transactions to do, and rest assured I’m going back to his shop!
